'Jonathan has my total support'

Why don't all the moaners chip in and buy the club off Steve. You all seem to know how a club should be run including who you would have advising you, who you would appoint as manager, who we should buy, how much you would charge for tickets. It's just so simple, in fact it's that's simple every football club can apply the same principles and everyone becomes a success, it's so easy.

If only it was that simple, Steve Gibson is Mr Middlesbrough FC, no one before and I doubt no one again will ever do so much.(except maybe you with your season ticket contribution and some away games) He is a fan as much as anyone, he will be hurting as much as anyone and he has a lot, lot more to loose then everyone else.

I understand the frustration but it happens, whether we are in the prem or league one, life goes on, there are far more important things in life and always will be.

Of course question Gibson, but some of the criticism and attacks are just ridiculous.

Time to get real and pull together, football like most things is circular, we will be back and Steve is the man to take us there.

Well at least we know Neil Bausor’s username now

It'll also read when we stay up (as we will, other teams are far worse…Woodgate just doesn't know how to manage) that JW has done amazing to keep the team up and deserves another season.

Which he shouldn't as this squad should be nearer the play offs. A bang average manager would have us up there.
You really think this squad should be near the play offs? The best players were sold and the rest are bang average. The inconsistencies in player performances probably indicate they are league one standard. I personally believe JW was given a poison chalice like mogga. The league table does not lie. Even decent players can self manage in a game. We have NO leaders on pitch. One thing though? Its going to be an exciting 11 games!

Off the top of my head:
• The poor recruitment and lack of backing to stay in the Premier League.
• I would never in a million years have sanctioned buying Gestede, Guidioura and Bamford as Premier League players.
• Who on their right mind would have appointee Steve Agnew for a third of the season when there was still a chance of Premier League survival?
• Giving Adam Clayton a four year contract
• Throwing Victor Orta under the bus to keep his buddy Gary Gill in the job he’s failed at over and over again.
• Sanctioning £50m of mostly dross Garry Monk spent
• The poor recruitment under Pulis
• Appointing an absolute clown in Jonathan Woodgate who the fanbase simply did not want.
• His lack of communication with the fans in an era where it’s never been so easy to communicate with people.

Face it, the emperor is naked.

You don’t have to be a chairman or a few million to splash on a football club to see at the time those were terrible decisions.

Rather than expecting people on a messageboard to chip in and buy him out, don’t you think it would be better for him to put it on the market and see if there is any interest?

Brilliant response. As I said, we seem to hate our own on Teesside. JW has my support. The bloke is clearly proud and hurting. His players have let him down

The bloke is a total ignoramus and is only hanging on because he knows another chairman wouldn’t be stupid enough to make him manager.

He’ll never be forgiven on Teesside if doesn’t walk and takes us into League One.

I have to admit, I feel deflated after reading that.

Although he is more or less saying for certain that he isn't going to be sacking Woodgate anytime soon, I'm clinging onto the hope that he might at least bring in an experienced head until the end of the season to help Woodgate, especially if the crowd turns tonight.

One thing seems certain though. Whether we're in League One or the Championship next season it's looking like Woodgate will be the manager :(
Feels wrong liking your post but I feel the same.

Absolutely staggering. Lost for words. You want my season ticket money Gibson? Not only have your lost my money but you've lost my support and belief. I'm finished. Crackpot of a man...

'I've learnt from mistakes as far back as Southgate'.....:)
That's why I cracked on and appointed a manager who no one else would have touched with a barge pole....

Gibson is learning from other politicians and conning his constituents with blather
If he really did learn from the Southgate mistake he wouldn't let Woodgate take us down and then wait til we are looking pretty ordinary in the division below to drop the axe.

Gibson has been in charge for what, 35 years or so? He took over when we were at our lowest. He transformed the club and took us to the top with International superstars, cup finals, Europe, consistent PL team. At that point we were in excellent health with a fantastic reputation, facilities and academy. The building blocks were all there.

Since then he has made one mistake after another. I get that we should be thankful for everything he has done, and I really am, but to question why people think he isn't doing what is best for the club is a bit blinkered. He isn't infallible. The game has passed him by now and I don't think he is relevant anymore. When we were successful he was a big player. Worth £100m+ and could challenge the big boys. Now, 20 years later, he is still only worth £100m+ but his competitors are multi-billionaires and are spending his net worth on a single player.

We used to punch above our weight because we spent money. We didn't have magic managers with underdogs beating teams they shouldn't be. We spent top dollar on top players and achieved what we realistically should have been with those resources. He doesn't have the resource to compete anymore and he isn't making the correct decisions so he either needs help (financially or advisory) or he needs to step aside.

We've only sold Flint haven't we? A few others out of contract/loans ended but none of them sold and none of them started every week.

Still people blame Pulis🤦🏻‍♂️

I said over and over and over again last season, he was not the problem. He was making an absolute shower of a squad competitive. We spend the overwhelming majority of the season in the promotion or play-off spots, and he got dogs abuse from our ridiculous fanbase.

“It can’t be any worse”, “We just want to see us have a go” was the cry, well our fans got the manager they deserved.

The recruitment hasn’t improved, because it wasn’t Pulis who was recruiting. Just as it wasn’t Monk or Karanka.

The football hasn’t improved, it’s got worse.

We’re in a worse position in every measure.

The person to blame 100% is Steve Gibson, the man is stubborn fool who just is out of touch with modern football and simply isn’t capable of overseeing a football club anymore.

League One will be what he deserves for a decade of incompetence and neglect.

Jesus Pog.

The man who gave us Juninho, cup finals, a cup victory, Europe, a new stadium, has bankrolled the club for 25 years deserves league one football?

Think about what you are saying. If you can't handle the trials and tribulations of a provincial football club that has won a single senior trophy in 100 odds years you should be thinking about supporting Liverpool, then Man City, then Chelsea, then whomever is top of the league.

only 25 surely? He wasn't 'in charge' before 94.

Obviously, we will deserve league one football, if we finish bottom three. Gibson’s decisions have lead to this. It’ll be interesting where he one day leaves the club. The third division maybe.....

Congratulations on the most idiotic post of the day🏆

I’ve watched a decade of mostly s***e.

I want a competent chairman, a manager who knows what he’s doing. A team who give their all and can play decent football.

I want to go to the game knowing there’s a possibility we might score more than one goal.

A team that are competitive.

You compare that to wanting what City or Chelsea have?

Give me strength.

Sooner or later you will realise Steve Gibson isn’t part of the problem, he is THE problem.

I feel incredibly frustrated with Gibson right now - it has been mistake after mistake following promotion to the Premier League, but I still don't doubt his commitment to the club.

Gibson didn't decide to appoint Woodgate because he no longer wants to spend money, and is happy for us to just float along in the lower leagues, it's because he gambled big time by allowing Monk and Pulis to spend the Premier League money, and sadly, it has backfired. The money has gone. We're now in this position where we have to cut costs and be frugal.

That's poor decision making on Gibsons' part, without question, but it's never been because of a lack of ambition.

Im not doubting his commitment, I’m doubting if he’s the right person to be making such decisions as he’s getting it wrong way to much. If he’s really really committed and ambitious, he should hire someone to make football decisions. As His decision making is **** poor.
