'Jonathan has my total support'

Not sure it was the interview to be taking about getting back to the premier league. Nice for him to communicate with the fans for once so we know where his heads at but there is nothing in that which fills me with any confidence. Looks like Woodgate will take us down.

I am glad he has acknowledged some of the awful decisions he’s made in the last 10 - 12 years.

Well thats more than the proverbial “vote of confidence”.

It reads pretty much as a guilt ridden confession that he he put JW in a position he shouldn’t have done and that it would be unfair to sack him for that.

Yeah and also reads as if he has effectively accepted relegation to League One.

Bit like a father excusing his son.

It'll also read when we stay up (as we will, other teams are far worse…Woodgate just doesn't know how to manage) that JW has done amazing to keep the team up and deserves another season.

Which he shouldn't as this squad should be nearer the play offs. A bang average manager would have us up there.

He talks like Woodgate is some kind of Messiah. How can it not be the fault of the Head Coach that his team is awful? Woodgate has taken over and made them worse.

Think it's a fair interview if I am honest, but it is pretty much what I expected.

The thing that strikes me is the lack of awareness of how football works in the wider world...'found it difficult to cope in the premier league because things had changed'.

He was also right in one thing. Woodgate has inherited a big mess
But I thought uncle Tony had sorted that mess out and left us in a good position going forward?

I’m sorry, but Gibson is full of shït here. He knows that if we get beat tonight the crowd will turn and he’s trying to head it off. Why talk now? And through the gazette who were banned from the stadium a couple of years ago for daring to criticise the club.

He's basically admitted to all the things that his critics on here have been levelling at him for years. Those same people who get called out for not being proper fans.

As I've said before, when he acts, he'll act too late. Woodgate is going nowhere.

It’s interesting that Gibson doesn’t recognise pulis as a mistake or making mistakes under in his regime. Pulis has made it harder for this club to bounce back.

There’s absolutely no way that, even if he’d expected a difficult season, he expected to be bottom 3 come March. To just absolve the manager of that entirely doesn’t make a lot of sense. How bad would it have to get for him to think we don’t have a very good manager?

The exact quote from Gibson on Pulis was:

"He has ensured that the club is stable and strong for the future. He leaves us in excellent condition."

But now Woodgate inherited a lot of problems apparently. You can't have it both ways. Either Pulis didn't do anywhere near as good a job as he and Gibson make out or Woodgate has made a complete pig's ear of it. Which is it Gibson?

Good that he's finally spoken I suppose, but he's either deluded or he thinks the fans are idiots. Maybe a bit of both.
