Is this the worst BORO team ever?

I remember the earlier mid 80s teams and I wasn’t as disappointed then as I am now . We all knew then we were skint after Amer’s fire sale after the sports centre debacle , BUT this team are breaking my heart insofar as knowing what the tos#ers cost .

I actually turned off my iPad towards the end because the match was painful to watch and I knew it would be typical for them to snatch it . Assombalonga trotting off all laughs was too much to bear .

Warnock was pulling his hair out at how we ballsed up basics . Like Swansea they looked like they never knew each other’s names .
You`re right.
They did look like strangers.
No matter what, time for a bottom - up rebuild.

Out of the current team I would only keep two players Spence and Coulson. We need a complete overhaul.

Loads of contenders for the worst team ever the Southgate team that got relegated, the Anglo Scottish team that strachan built and this team.

I’d say the strachan team it was so slow and pedestrian and soviet block workmanlike. Pure dogturd.

Currie has a similar record in his first 7 seasons as Assombolonga has in his last 7. They are both at best 1 in 3.
Fletcher has scored 23 league goals in 127 league matches. He is not even close to 1 in 5.
They are both complete spuds.

Erimus is spot on.
Currie was no great talent, but he had more skill than these two combined.
And David Currie cost nothing and earned nothing; whereas these two jokers cost £22m and contracts worth at least £16m.

If games lasted 75 minutes instead of 90 this team would be 15 points better off and on the fringes of the play offs, so the ability to compete is there but there’s a fundamental weakness, whether that be fitness, mental application, organisation, game management or communication which means our performance level dips late on in matches and we drop points.

Sometimes you lose players that have an impact on a game that goes beyond their own performance, leaders who organise and rally others to grind things out or turn a deserved draw into an undeserved win, we seem to lack character, desire and heart, 3 things that every supporter would hope any player in their clubs shirt would show as a minimum, whatever happens the rest of this season the club needs a root and branch overhaul in the summer and an injection of steel to give us back our identity and make us at the very least difficult to beat.

Jayson Leutwiler - Dejan Stojanović - someone liked him

Justin Hoyte - Djed Spence - did well last year
Seb Hines - Dael Fry - tall and athletic
Maxi Haas - George Friend - dunt look up to it
Hayden Coulson - Joe Bennett - he'll be off

Tarmo Kink - Lewis Wing - helluva shot on him
Kevin Thomson - Paddy McNair - big name, total fanny
Merouane Zemmama - Raval Morrison - a figment of our imagination

Adam Hammill - Patrick Roberts - king of the step overs
Kris Boyd - Britt Assombalonga - fat fanny who dunt score
Kei Kamara - Ashley Fletcher - nice lad, scores more than the others

Manager:
Gordon Strachan - Agnew, Monk, Pullis, Woodgate - all shyte

That Grimsby match was dyer. Felt like I had taken my Boro scarf to a funeral.:(

That day we made Mike Brolly look like Pirlo.

And the total capitulation against Blackburn when Noel Brotherston ripped us to shreds. (probably the best performance by an opposing player I've seen.)Screenshot_20200703_131053.jpg

When you put it in that context I just shake my head and think wtf?!!

We've just got to somehow by any means avoid relegation, and then rebuild with all the savings from the Premiership wages that we are paying league 1 standard players who will be out of contract this summer.

It's a bad team, but I feel that we are only 3 or 4 players away from being playoff chasing one, as Pulis (love him or hate him) proved with much the same squad.

This is the game I always remember when I think of that season. Brotherston with his socks round his ankles (a la Terry Cochrane) destroying us. Weirdly, this defeat came on the back of a few wins (both home and away) and when you look at our team, it wasn't actually as bad as I remembered (Platt. Kennedy, Otto, Wood, Shearer, Cochrane and Bell were all decent players IMO).
