India Covid Situation - Big Improvement

Didn't see it, might watch it, suspect it mentions covid vaccines in passing and concentrates on nutjobs that are against all vaccines and attempts to correlate the two.

Quote I saw somewhere.... "calling me an anti-vaxxer" because I don't want the covid vaccine is like calling me anti-dairy because I don't like cheese"
I saw one about 3 months back, think it was the Panorama one, which was about 20 people on there (who were going to turn the jab down), some of them clueless, but most were vulnerable. They were largely putting 2 + 2 together and were getting 5, mainly based on a collated misinformation video from a collection of "struck off" doctors, or "care professionals", I say the latter in the loosest term possible.

A lot of the disinformation seemed to be targeted at minorities, which seemed strange.

Thankfully once they had spoken to an actual expert, most changed their minds., and had one of the vaccines, or was planning to.

That's all it takes, just talk to an expert, you don't have to believe what's written on social media.

Are you listening to that "doctor" I posted the video from ?

Whereas your argument seems to boil down to "go ask a doctor"

This guy is a doctor and a pro-vaccine doctor at that but at least he is open-minded....
No, my argument, is have a debate, show your concerns and counter others when they provide evidence or counter them, but anti-vaxers or deniers or whatever don't do that, they just fart in the lift then leg it. It's a waste of time with them, so no point trying to explain certain things, with reasoning, as people down the rabbit hole don't want to listen, even more so if they don't know who is actually trying to help.

So seeing as they won't have a debate, then maybe they should speak to an expert and stay away from youtube or "research", nobody logical could argue against that surely?

Seen a lot of John's videos, he's got better as it's gone on largely. Don't have time to watch this one just yet, what's your point in posting it?

Being open-minded is fine, it's certainly encouraged if it's logical.

So what do you think about the Ivermectin situation... in his (amn many other experts) opinions it is at least beneficial as both a prophylactic and a treatment in conjunction with vaccines and yet we hear nothing about it ?

Don't know, not looked into it, I'm not an expert. If it works or has a hope of working or helping, then I'm sure it will get used unless the risk is worse than the collective gain.

Why are people willing to take ivermectin, but not a vaccine? Why don't they talk bout hydroxychloroquine any more?

My guess (without looking) is it's not been through anywhere near the same sort of rigorous trials for Covid-19 as the vaccines, nowhere near the same numbers, nowhere near the same duration, and it's side effects are probably known less than the vaccines?

It has been administered 4 billion times over the course of decades with absolutely negligible complications.
It is on the WHO list of "essential medicines"

It is however out of patent.

How many times for Covid? It needs to be proven to work to be used as a treatment, just like the vaccines?

Did you not watch that video ? He clearly states that the chances of a large scale clinical trial of ivermectin for covid is not going to happen because no-one can make any money out of it.
We know it is safe and there is plenty of anecdotal evidence it works well so I don't see any reason medicinally why we shouldn't at least try it.

Wrong.

What's wrong? Where are the trials for its use with Covid? Its success rate seems a lot lower?
There are seemingly quite a few known side effects with it (no idea on the detail though)?
Does it help prevent transmission? Does it work on Delta?
Where are the trails, and real-life uses for Covid?

I appreciate it's been used to treat other conditions and I've got nothing against the medicine, seems good if it's proven to work, I assume there's been some papers done on it?

Andy W is the Black Knight from Monty Python And The Holy Grail and i claim my years supply of KitKats
You really are a doyle. Map up and get yourself down James cook and go talk to some doctors (or even nurses if the doctors scare you), stop being scared of a little needle and think about someone else for a change.

Watch the video... he covers 3 trials in Mexico City, Peru & Uttar Pradesh.
He has another video where he interviews Dr. Tess Lawrie from "The Evidence Based Medicine Consultancy" who covers a whole lot of of other trials that were strangely misrepresented by the WHO.

Sorry, listening to the cricket whilst at work, will watch it later if I get chance, I'm interested in it mind (y)

I would be surprised at that (not using it purely as can't make money on it), especially if it had more promise than other drugs being used. But if it's still got side effects and not designed to be as effective as a vaccine then I'd still rather have the vaccine. I trust modern science, it's got us this far, and we know more now than ever.

Who done the trials, anyone independent/ reputable?

Anecdotal evidence. That's OK then. Who needs evidence and a scientific, in depth clinical trial when anecdotal evidence exists! It's funny how the anti vaxxers still don't believe in vaccines but people are willing to accept anecdotal evidence on this one. No, not funny.

Who will pay for this in-depth clinical trial when the drug is out of patent ? Simple question
