India Covid Situation - Big Improvement

It’s a real shame that some of these players have taken in some good people. Dr John Campbell has aired ivermectin stuff from both Kory and Dr Tess Laurie (who was very recently sharing a stage at an anti lockdown protest with David Icke for Christ’s sake!). I don’t believe for one second that John Campbell is anything other than a good man trying to make sense of it all and is honestly working his way through the data as best he can, but he’s been manipulated by such con artists, as much as many other decent folk have.
It’s easy to see how people can get taken in by these characters with credentials though. I went for a look down the rabbit hole and started lookimg at Yeadon’s claims very early on, and what he initially said made sense. Only when he really got going to it become apparent that he was talking absolute utter bull****. I then had a good look into all these covid commentators, liars and misinformation peddlers, and looking back at a lot of the threads that the more conspiracy theorist posters on here were involved in, the same group of names appear again and again. (People who have since been consistently proven woefully wrong, but haven’t retracted anything, or apologised, or learnt from it, but have deleted evidence instead) It’s awful. Some of these people were all over out mainstream tv at the start, and gained an air of credibility through that, which was completely misplaced. I have to wonder who was facilitating these bad faith actors getting onto mainstream media. The likes of Gupta, Heneghan, Levvitt, Craig, Yeadon, Patton, Kenny, etc
Yeah, John is a good guy, and means well, but he doesn't seem to grasp numbers as well as he claims, and had an early following of deniers, which he's seemingly tried to move away from. I think he's just quite gullible, though, and got suckered in by the "no second wave" and claims of 0.2-0.4% IFR in the real early days, which were just nowhere near true. I don't think he's a medical doctor either, think he's a doctor of philosophy, but don't quote me on that.

Yeadon's lost the plot, Heneghan is up his own **** and Craig is being paid to talk crap, but most of them are all part of disinformation group, and there's recently been some chats aired on twitter, as it seems they have a whistleblower :ROFLMAO:

Dude, that’s not remotely funny.
What's the joke?
All I've seen this morning is the fatal shootings in Plymouth, Amazon moving lord of the rings production to the UK, the Afghanistan situation and news about this weekend's football. It was a genuine question.

Cases up 10x in a month, and still going, and it's one of the most unvaxxed states in older folk.

Even on Fox they're saying it's getting bad, and we all know what they're like

Wasnt Florida the example people were using to take all restrictions away a few months ago when less than half of the population were vaccinated? Looks like things are going well......

Apologies Randy, I misunderstood. I thought you’d be aware of the situation in Florida.
It’s grim. Really grim. The GBD gang were shouting from the rooftops about how they’d basically affected policy there. The governor has had multiple meetings with Kulldorf and Bhattacharya and been taking their advice. He’s a big anti-mask, anti-lockdown, covid ain’t so bad type.

Same situation that's happened at different times all over the world, probably just become used to it, I don't know?

Speaking to friends who live in the Kissimmee area the other day they never mentioned anything other than the traffic is unusually busy for this time of year over there which they believe is a result of the restrictions on international travel, the Americans 'staycationing' aswell. Probably helped spread the cases about.

Mate, I know you like to look at alternative news on the internet. A very very quick google shows the following results, among many many others….

"Today we are at 15,358 individuals hospitalized for COVID statewide,

‘Hospitalizations hit 15,796 Thursday and are climbing, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.’

Florida COVID update: 24,753 new cases — state breaks record for third time this week

‘90% of Florida's intensive care beds are now occupied. In preparation for what might come, the state health department has requested emergency supplies from the federal government.’

Yet only a month ago, Bhattacharya, Kulldorf and the GBD fanboys were bragging about their policy advice, and slaying lockdowns, saying Florida proves lockdowns were a mistake.

Yeah exactly, and back then they were being told the same things they're being told now.

The deniers, anti-vaxers/ anti-lockdowners/ GBD supporters/ IVM lot or whatever, just look at one single thing and then jump to 25 conclusions, or jump the gun, without being able to consider why different things are happening in different places. They're the master examples of "correlation is not causation" and trying to apply the same figures to totally different data sets/ demographics. Each time they get bit on the ass, and then they delete previous tweets or posts, just deny it's happening, or just move onto some other bull**** topic, it would be hilarious if it wasn't so dangerous, and the because it's so dangerous we have to back track which then screws the economy more than it otherwise would have been.

It's funny mind, as there's not many countries who have done what the actual plan should have been, which was quite clear from the start:
Listen to the experienced countries/ personnel and those ahead of you on the curve
Lockdown earlier, so the peak is lower, so recovery doesn't take as long (recovery tasks 2-3 times longer, than it does to increase cases, so for every week you're early, you save 2-3 weeks recovery, providing you are in confirmed exponential growth)
Stop importing cases
Test, trace, isolate and actively enforce it
Then capitalise this by getting vaccines as fast as possible

A few countries did the first few parts, but then were ridiculously slow with vaccines, we did next to none of the first four, or did them extremely late, but used vaccines as a lifeboat when our ship sunk.
