I think Carrick is on the brink

You can't keep blaming the injuries. There is a serious lack of quality in the squad. It was obvious from August.

Carrick isn't learning his lesson. Its blatantly obvious its jot working yet he keeps turning up and doing the same thing over and over again. Our one result in the last 8 matches, he set up differently.

Fcuking rubbish

We are suffering with injuries. Badly suffering and finding out that the likes of ayling thomas Azaz badpasser and probably obrien just don’t have what we need
 
Carrick is a thoroughly decent person, but his team is abject at the moment. So many poor performances, it's starting to become reminiscent of the team when Woodgate was in charge.
 
I think we’ve seen he can get us playing well when he has the right players to do it - we currently don’t have them. I know people were expecting a lot after last season but we simply don’t have the quality we had last time - Akpom basically carried us in the attacking sense, not just with goals but with him being able to carry the ball forward. Rogers was beginning to show similar ability in that sense but of course he’s gone now too. There’s no one in the team who can do that now and our build up play is so ponderous we must be a dream for defenders to play against.
It depends on which players we can bring in on whether Carrick can make a go if it again now

If we don't have the players, to play his style then change the style.
 
Everyone has to learn their trade, that takes time. I will give Carrick the benefit of doubt this season. Two seasons in management and a great one last year, but injuries have not helped this season.
Does he have the right experience in his management team?
 
We can blame the recruitment all we like, but this is the level of players we will be signing for the foreseeable. Mostly shïte with the odd gem, who we’ll then sell for a profit. If you throw enough of it some will stick.

The problem we have is that Carrick will only play a certain way and we don’t have anywhere near the quality required in the squad, and eventually he’ll pay the price. It might be sooner than we think, but then what? Woodgate? Rip it up and start all over again?

The club is a shambles from top to bottom and I’m past caring now. Gibson is getting exactly what he deserves and will lose thousands of season ticket holders and crowds will be back to what they were 10-12 years ago.

To be fair, our best performances in 2024 have largely come when Carrick has set aside his usual style for a more organised defensive approach, albeit more a 532. I don't like that system generally but we need to swallow some pride right now, keep things tighter and grind out some points however we can.

We're deep in the sh1t unless things pick up we just coast to the end of the season

But I am starting to worry he doesn’t know how to change a game.
Yep this is very concerning, also our players look like little skinny underweight players who are going to get gobbled up by big Physical champion players…have they got enough fight in them to avoid relegation?
 
We are where I thought we would be after looking at our squad in August.
Carrick doesn't seem to be able to inspire them in games against the lower teams where you would expect us to pick up points.
The Players need sorting out. They can up their game v Chelsea and Villa but can't be bothered v Rotherham and Stoke.
Big changes needed in all areas of the club or it will be same again next season

We look weak.
We have the heart of mice and the prowess of guinea pigs on the pitch....

I had literally only just consolidated our position as a mid table champo club in my head....and that may be a pipe dream come may

I think.we could.be in the bottom 3.on the last day .....again!!!!!!! Ffs

And yet he doesn’t change the way we play one iota.

He’s a good manager when he has really really good players and that’s all. I reckon I could make a decent fist of it if I had Archer, Ramsey and Giles and a firing Akpom.

I also reckon that if I watched the same car crash every week with the lesser players I’d change something about the way we play.
