I think Carrick is on the brink

The season is beginning to look like our year in the PL under Karanka. We're not getting hammered every week, but steadily slipping down, no alternative system and dogmatically approaching every game while the defeats stack up.

I really don't think we would be able to recruit a better manager than Carrick, so my concern is that he gets picked up by someone else if they can provide him with players capable of playing in the way he obviously seems to favour.

It’s really hard to argue that he should stay after the last few months. Barring the Leicester game we have been embarrassing. But I think with the right players he can take us up. It will be a matter of surviving this season.

Recruitment has been an issue. We could never replace all those goals and assists from last season.

Yet recruitment or not. It doesn't excuse the level of performances over the past 2 weeks. No energy or drive. Nobody looks like they care.

They look unmotivated or coached. It's Carrick who keeps persisting with this formation. Yet we can all see we don't have the players for it. The very least it's obvious it's not working.

I was just about to post something similar. That season we gave up in January by not bringing in a proper manager this season we have given up in January by not bringing in the required quality in key positions and selling 2 key players.
