I like Connolly.

Both goals attributed to him this season benefitted from huge slices of good fortune.
I agree, but like I posted after the Brum match he was there creating the danger and was a bit unlucky not to actually score it.
Not as unlucky that Jonesy who hasn't got assists for the own goals he has created.

You can’t fault his work rate and as others have said he’s doing what wilder requires from him.
Don't you think Wilder might be hoping he scores a goal? There's no point in "requiring" him to score a goal, because he won't.

Brighton are one of the lowest scoring teams in the Prem League, but there's been no suggestion that they'd recall him. Their strikers couldn't hit a barn door either judging by what happened yesterday but they are still preferred to him.

Imagine Connolly in the play off final - a minute to go and Tavernier plays a ball over the top for him to run onto, to score the winning goal. Does he score?

Nah.

Why would there be a suggestion they'd recall him?

He signed in January, they can't recall him.

You’d have to say he’s kind of unlucky with his positioning. For instance the Balogun goal the bounce of the ball totally eluded him and bounced so kindly for the Arsenal player. There’s been other instances (in other games) where Connolly has either got in the way of other players or been in the wrong place. Maybe his luck will change.

Being in the right place at the right time is not luck you either have it or you don't slaven had it and it looks like coburn has it as well.

I mentioned after his debut that he reminded me a bit of Rooney.

He stretches defences by making runs in behind and works extremely hard off the ball.

I think we've finally worked out that he isn't great at holding the ball up so we don't look to play the ball long to him or to his feet as much now.
He's fine as long as he doesn't have to touch the ball.

What for hoping we improve our team ? 🤡
I would normally accept other people's opinion but yours is borderline Troll, you have to enjoy the wins and accept he isn't banging them in but his effort is helping the team to win, if we keep winning and he doesn't score I take it, the only downside is the Clowns like you and I assume your other needy avatar who can't help themselves and have s dig at him when his inclusion worked.

It's not a natural thing, it's a learned thing. Some people learn quicker and better than others. Coburn has picked it up very well through his youth and short pro career, Connolly is behind him in knowing how to move to find the space where the ball will be and the defender won't be. But he has other skills that other strikers don't

Wayne Rooney type player. Has to work hard as a striker due to his size, up against big Championsip defenders. Makes good runs but needs to pass to team mates who are in a better position, rather than try impossible shots. At his age and with his hunger, he will only improve. (y)
Me too, works very hard. A much better footballer than he gets credit for. It’s good to see some appreciate him.
