How long do we give Warnock then?

But whether you like him or not, Warnock has proved himself numerous times in this division. I know that is no guarantee of success but it would suggest that if he is given the tools then he can succeed.

Football never used to have such short horizons. Ferguson at Man Utd is the classic example - not winning anything in the first 6 years (I think) but they kept with him because they believed he was the right man for the job despite a dodgy record for those first 6 years. It strikes me that many fans are quite petulant and at the first sign of poor results and not getting what they want, they demand the manager's head as some kind of retribution.

If this period had gone on years and years I could get it. People say it has been during the full calendar year as if it is a lifetime. It is probably around 20 games at a guess. A manager should get 3 years as a minimum to take stock, implement change then get results and be left to get on with it unless we were dropping like a stone, which we are not.
I agree that someone should be given time to get it right, but that has to come with some signs of improvement. Teams don't go from being poor to being good overnight. If there's some sign of things improving, then leave him in the job. But unfortunately there are no signs whatsoever of improvement. The team is still being overrun in midfield, still making defensive errors, still not creating chances, still not scoring goals.

Given that he's going at the end of the season, I just can't see any point in Warnock staying on another day. Find someone who can work with the players and give him a goal of continuous improvement, however marginal, with promotion in three years.

Steve Gibson is going to be forced into action soon. What will the next home crowd be? Small and hostile if nothing changes.

Hi Nosmo. I can see the wrong and agree this season has not kicked off as we would all want. But I just don't accept that, at the first sign of trouble, the manager getting the boot is the best way forward. I could get it if we were in Forest's position and things looked dire. Or if it was a gamble with a new manager that did not look like coming off ie Woodgate. But whether you like him or not, Warnock has proved himself numerous times in this division. I know that is no guarantee of success but it would suggest that if he is given the tools then he can succeed.

The game has changed since Fergies days and I recall it was largely said he was a game away from the sack when they beat Forest in the cup.

I was all for Warnock when he joined. Something vindicated when he kept us up with a 50% win rate. However since that time our results have been patchy, performances dominated by hoofball and he looks a pale shadow of the manager he was in obtaining results. Wholesale changes to the squad, similar deficiencies. I don’t now back him to achieve the best possible outcome for us as a club. I am not convinced Warnock is the right man - always appears to have plenty of excuses!

We need to make sure he is eating his breakfast on match days otherwise he is likely to pick the wrong team.

I've never read such tripe from a manager....he's making us the laughing stock of the division along with Rams.

And why on earth are we employing a sports scientist who cannot even manage players basic match day preparation?

Embarrassing, is the word that sums up Warnocks performance this season.

I think the new team has to be given time - at least 5 more matches maybe more - that will take us up to November - if there is no signs of improvement then it is time for a change.

I think that's the last of my patience for Mr Warnock done. We have no plan, he was a stop-gap and it's no longer working. Time to identify someone who's going to work with the DOF and build something for the future. I'm tired of fighting fires.

Silly talk. We give him at least 15 games in any Championship season. There are 46 games remember.

We’re almost 10 games in, do you see anything changing in the next 5 or 6 games? Taking into account how we are playing now and how we finished last season, I’d say no.

He needs to go now

Like I keep banging on about, look at his record since January, we're in bottom five form.

The next three games are make or break imo..

I'm guessing a name will be pencilled in now and if we get beat by Sheff Utd I reckon Gibson will make the call

I LOVE WARNOCK BTW and want nothing more than to see him bow out with a boro promotion on his illustrious CV

It defo feels like mogga territory.. something is just not clicking

We're closer to relegation than promotion. Other than flirting with the top six briefly last year weve been shocking. Theres nothing i can think of that hasnt already been said other than warnock and one last promotion wont happen. Warnock and one last tantrum, sacking or walkout will and either one those will do for me and sooner the better.

We did reasonably well last season given we had three poor strikers and a average squad. Disappointed with the start we’ve had, we’re probably worth a few more points than we have but not much more. There’s still time but the clocks ticking. Regardless off what happens I always thought this was his last season anyway.

I'd say 2 games - that's when the international break is

Looking back to the turn of the year, we were near the playoffs. Then he gets a group of new players in and our form dips and we finish mid-table. Now the same thing has happened again with new players coming through and he’s saying they need time to gel. Well he couldnt manage that in 4 months last time so why would anyone have any faith in him getting this team to gel either
