Homophobic chanting in the South Stand yesterday

Sorry to throw in a negative, off-field matter from yesterday especially during a great period for the club.
But still singing "you're just a town full of rent boys" at die-hard opposition supporters who happen to follow a team from London is pathetic in the extreme.
There are some idiots in the south stand who think they are plastic hooligans it’s pathetic, the club need to find them and just ban them for life.

Why aren't the stewards directed to deal with this? I thought it was now an offense.

On another note, I watched a podcast from a QPR fan last night and was amazed at how old their support was and shouting and gesturing toward the Boro fans. At the same time, there were Boro fans gesturing back at them of a similar age.

I didn't hear it from where I was so hopefully it's only a very small number of dimwits, but I agree with the above that the club should be doing something about it.

Did something happen just before they scored their goal? I'd noticed a lot of the fans in the south stand who were nearest the away section were cheering and chanting "you're just a soft southern b****d".

Was a QPR fan evicted by stewards?

Completely embarrassing and unacceptable that we still feel it is appropriate to sing to London clubs the ‘town full of **** **** ‘ chant. It wasn’t a small number either - it was a significant number to the left side of the South Stand with the usual racists who always boo or scream out their displeasure at teams taking the knee in the East stand joining in. Like many clubs we have a problem with racist and homophobic fans, a very small proportion but they need rooting out. We will at some point quite rightly face a charge for homophobic chanting and behaviour which for the majority of us will bring shame on our club. We need more police or club ‘spotters’ in these areas in particular and make examples of the habitual offenders.

Can you pinpoint any particular block or area?
The club will obviously be very interested. (y)
I heard nothing of the sort where I was.

Are you sure the club are interested?
The club, police have brilliant surveillance capability - I'm surprised they need the help of the public.

From what Borofur has told us - it was Block 23 - at least he heard ift from there.
You can hear from all areas of the ground - it may not have been from the south stand.
Lets stick to facts.
You seem to be chucking the paint pot around just lately.
That might be ok in the pub, but doesnt help us all to bring the offenders to book.
I`m sure most reasonable fans dont want to hear mysogenistic, racist, homophobic or other insults directed at either players or fellow fans.

People boo taking the knee in the West Stand.
What are you going to do about them?
We can hear them from the South Stand.
Its not just one area, even though some prefer piety to facts.

What paint and where am I chucking it please point me in the right direction? I’m talking about the minority in the south who shout homophobic abuse, boo taking the knee because it is happening especially when we play a team from the nations capital.

As with the booing of the knee, completely shameful behaviour.

From the north stand it seemed to be coming from the south block closest to the away fans . There was quite a distinct between the chanting in the south stand at the RF end and the away fans end, unusually - which is why it seemed easier to pinpoint. Could be wrong so it would be interesting to hear from anyone closer.

Agreed. It certainly was not from the North Stand. My impression was it was the South Stand closest to the away fans. Pretty certain on that as I commented on it, receiving agreement from those around me.
