Hartlepool Constituency Poll

That truth will get clearer by the day
is! Eventually the tide will turn

That’s echoed today by Mary Riddell. A Telegraph columnist

“Boris Johnson’s vaccine bounce is nearing its end. As life returns to normal, witness jobs lost, a struggling NHS, a rundown justice system and post-Brexit blight. This is a nasty government, mired in sleaze and cronyism.”

Yeah they should get behind tory values like lining the pockets of the cronies.
As above its the cult of brexit, nothing else matters, thousands of unnecessary deaths included
why not just listed to what people want? do you not think that it is dangerous in a democracy for MPs to just do how they please regardless?

labour do not understand their own voters, their own values! they are not willing to listen either. at the moment labour is a dead in the water. like the lib dems after tuition fess.. labour went one better and then they went after their own.

far to many people missing the bigger picture here and too happy to boo hiss 'brexiteers' or label them as idiots, racists, it isn't enough just to paint the tories as the boogy man and simply say 'vote for us, or else' the game is up.

Nice to see REFUK are -25 points down. Although given the state of the country, they’re obviously not needed

People consistently want what's written in the Labour / Green manifestos . . . then vote for the 1% to get richer.
People look at the likes of Hodge, Philips, Streeting & Starmer all slagging of or hindering core labour values, then they looks at the likes of Paul Williams shouting from the rooftops that he will not honour a referendum result, he will do everything in his power to make sure it doesn't happen.. and you know what. Folks just say they are no better than the other lot. I'm going to vote for a pack of chunts.. because at least they are open about it. At least I know where I stand.

You’re voting for a pack of chunts because they're open about it? But Williams was open about himself wanting a second referendum, he didn't hide it. The referendum is over, we’re out. Williams thought, in the nations best interest, that we needed to make sure that people still wanted it, so what?

So what do people In Hartlepool want in your opinion, other than Brexit, which is being offered by Johnson and co?

I might just be very naive on politics, but how on earth does an area with one of the highest rates of unemployment, social and economic deprivation and has felt the full force of austerity over the last decade possibly vote for more of the same? All during a pandemic which this government couldnt have possibly handled any worse. I understand the opposition isnt exactly up to much but this is still absolutely baffling to me.

Like it or not Boris is popular, I know im just as bemused by this as anyone. But the fact is that for whatever reason Boris has an appeal to the electorate and starmer doesn’t seem to be able to eat into this popularity.

just because we don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not there and for whatever bizarre reason Boris is popular.

I had relatives who voted for him first time round as Mayor. They thought he was a bit of a card who'd do right for London. They didn't vote for him second time.

The poll had a sample size of 502 conducted via telephone. Its margin of error will be significantly higher than other polls.

For example, of those 502 people polled only 13 said they voted for the Brexit Party in 2019 which would represent a 3% vote share and not the 26% they actually got.

Also the number of people who said they voted Labour was similar to that of the Tories which when survation applied their weighing for the sample suggests they have significantly oversampled the Tory vote and applied very large assumptions on false voter recall of the Brexit Party vote.

Very very large pinch of salt required, though the headline obviously has had its desired effect.

I didn't.. I voted for Phil Wilson despite him being a complete tool and not representing my values in any way shape or form. Williams thought undemocratically and unfortunately there is no other way to put it. He was, like many others working for his own needs he was not representing his constituents. I'm not just making this up to start some chew on a football message board. It's just what happened.

So they want cronyism, sleaze, low moral fibre, racism, poor fiscal policy, punishing the poor and the I'm Alright Jack values? Ie The Conservative Party?
Cronyism? Stephen Kinnock? Hilary Benn? How about calling their own members Trots. Rabble. Dogs. Cranks. Nazi Stormtroopers. Thugs. Antisemites. Bullies. Cultists. Terrorist sympathisers? Politicians on the whole have low moral fibre, racism is rife in both parties and largely accepted. Both parties in their current state punish the poor.

If this poll was the result of the 2019 Hartlepool election it would look like this...

Using the *weighted* figures, you get GE2019 vote as...

LAB: 47%
CON: 46%
BXP: 3%
LDM: 2%
OTH: 1%

When the actual result was... LAB 38%, CON 29%, BXP 26%, LDM 4%, OTH 3%.

Suggesting that the BXP voters are vastly underrepresented in this poll.

Pointless asking questions like this as though all the people in any given area all have the exact same views. Labour's problem at the moment is that they naturally aren't appealing to about 45% of the country who vote tory, no matter how much Starmer drapes himself in flags and goes to homophobic churches. And the party's MPs have nothing but contempt for the 35-40% odd of people that they could appeal to who want more socialism.

starmer has no personality. boris is the loveable rouge, the loveable fool, the celebrity toff, not afraid to get his hands dirty to get things done. I cannot stand the man, but him and his mates are having a right good old jolly ripping off the tax payer to the tune of billions of pounds.

the Bullingdon Boys are running the country, and it was the backstabbing traitors in the labour party that handed them the keys.
