Gold Season Card Holders

Yes and a suggestion is also maybe a formal system whereby season card holders not attending can make their seats available also.
Some season card holders miss a lot of games, because of work etc. With Track and Trace I imagine it will be important to know who is in what seat - so maybe a formal system where seats can be reallocated from a list - the season card holder wouldn't get any money but their seat would be used up from the waiting list, perhaps.

Rob if the club are selling my seat for a second time I’d expect money back.

That approach is thinly veiled attempt at offering tickets to everyone. Tickets would never reach general sale. It would be a closed shop.

If however, you removed priority for a number of games once you'd been successful to allow them to reach general sale, that would be a different matter. I think that would be acceptable to all in that case.

Primus - many people donate their seats for good causes when they cannot make games. They contact Boro and their seats are allocated to a charity or other community use. Possibly not in the actual seat etc.
Some people miss every night match, or might miss half a dozen games in the season, if there was a formal way that seat could be reallocated wouldn't that be a great thing to do for fellow Boro fans? But I don't think you should expect payment. You wouldn't sell your seat to family or friend, would you?
When there are thousands of fans unable to get in to games it is exceptional circumstances.

That’s their choice. If the club gave the tickets to kids fine. If someone else is paying then I’d not be happy the club being paid twice so my choice would be to have the money back.

I think that there are not going to be enough seats to hold back for match by match sales, there are more than enough season ticket holders to fill the proposed allocation for us but would be an idea, that season ticket holders could free up their seat if unable to attend but it shouldn’t be at the season ticket holders expense, they should be reimbursed, you can’t sell the same seat twice but obviously this scenario has it’s own issues, as currently, the seating plan will be in social bubbles, so you can’t just insert a random person into a social bubble.

I think it would be a good idea to have some tickets for each match but any matchday tickets would need to be online, last thing we want is queues of people at this time.

Good point.

I can see a whole swathe of supporters losing interest in Boro if they don't get the chance to go next season... especially the young supporters.

And it is also a point that we do not yet know whether everyone will be able to access streams next season - what will EFL/SKY say - as you say people could become detached from their team and even the game so it is vitally important. And vitally important that as many as ways as possible are explored to keep Boro in peoples hearts and minds. Not so straight forward in social distanced times.

Hopefully they renewed before the sales were suspended or during the glitch.

Currently an ever moving situation, we are at the mercy of this virus, current public adherence to safety policies and where the science leads us, when/if fans are allowed back in, there maybe certain stipulations attached, eg. No over 70’s etc, who knows???

If I couldn’t go to a match I would be happy for somebody to have the seat free of charge. If the club wanted to make a nominal admin charge of £5 say for ‘managing’ the reserve list then I wouldn’t have too much issue. I think if the club try to resell seats then it will lead to people like me finding their own substitutes rather than making the seat available.

I think a formal system to reallocate season ticket seats would be a good step. I wouldn't expect any reimbursement but the club should not 'sell' them again. I think the club should explore how to make the live stream more widely available and for less cost. We need to keep and expand the interest.

I think I understand it better than you have.

How about the fact that all this started with a post from Rob? Not from mfc.co.uk?

How about the fact that the club have'nt actually stated that via mfc.co.uk that Gold Card members who don't review will not lose their privileges?

How about the club allowed non Gold card members to purchase tickets without advising that they could do so and no communication from mfc.co.uk?

Hence my somewhat sarcastic "yeah righto" that seems to have gone over your head.

Gone over my head? What an assumption. Most people can set up their notifications to get the correct information delivered to their inbox.

You can't? Let's not make renewing a season ticket into a complicated affair.

Barnsy you were reasonable before, why this outburst?

The club haven't communicated well with the fans on this matter, to suggest otherwise is disingenious.

Why? Because people look for failure, for negativity. As I have said, anyone who had the desire to renew their ticket could have done so, all the information was there.

Do you really mean 'disingenious'? 🤔

And someone said it had gone over my head.

Because the club have not supplied the information to the public, they stopped SC sales with no notice. They then told people if they didn't renew they'd lose their benefits but then subsequently told Rob they wouldn't. Yes I did mean "disingenuous" I made a typo are you really being that pedantic?

No, not pedantic, just trying to familiarise myself with what I though was a new word to add to my vocabulary.

Was it really a typo? Or just a spelling mistake? 😀

You people need to lighten up.
