I can neither confirm nor deny that I am alluding to anything@AC Jimbo are you alluding to what I think you’re alluding to?
It's always been predominantly white, in fact I would say it's less !"white" now then it's ever beenDont spend millions on BIG headlines acts.
Make it cheaper and more accessible.
Glastonbury has become too white and too middle class.
christ, Emily Eavis would get a nobel peace price if she could sort out the hatred between the members of those bands.Personally, I would love to see Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, Talking Heads, New Order (with Hooky), The Smiths and Oasis but fear I might be asking too much.
That would be great, but I'd like to add to all that Radiohead doing it to promote a new album, since they haven't done a new album in 7 years by next summer, Portishead with a full orchestra similar to their Roseland concert, Arcade Fire just a fun concert you can dance to, Bob Dylan in the legends slot. Page & Plant playing their Led Zep catalogue, and Blondie.....oh and Iggy F....n Pop....ah too many, you'd need a 5 day Glastonbury for that lotA dream lineup for me next year would be.
Eminem (one big last hurrah for the surely his last live performances).
Fleetwood Mac (with Buckingham back in the fold, very unlikely)
Arctic Monkeys (built for festivals)
The Strokes (ironic considering Alex Turner of the above's fanboyism of Casablanca)
Taylor Swift(I'm a small fan, she'd put on a hell of a show that's certain).
Oasis (money will talk sooner rather than later)
For me, Portishead and Radiohead are bands that you should see at indoor venues for atmosphere. Would find it pretty dull at a festival. Get Robert Plant, John Paul Jones an Jimmy Page to team up with Paul McCartney and Ringo’s son to do a Led Zeppelin/The Beatles super group show - job sorted
To be fair they play nearly every year!Suprised no one has mentioned the chemical brothers. Might not be everyone's cup of tea. But they smashed it last time. (and at castle howard last Sunday )
And they were also due to play at Arcadia this year too but covid intervened. To be fair they play nearly every year!
Radiohead were unbelievably good on Pyramid in 2019. Dull they were not. I agree with you about Arcade Fire. Loved their first album but their newer stuff not for me.For me, Portishead and Radiohead are bands that you should see at indoor venues for atmosphere. Would find it pretty dull at a festival.
Have never understood the attraction with Arcade Fire, they can go in the sea with Alt-J
