mc Cartney 80, Ross 80, she was absolutely terrible !Of the 3 headliners, one was literally the youngest ever at 20 and another was 35. So one OAP out of 3 and ask the vast majority who went and they will tell you they witnessed a special performance on the Saturday night from said OAP.
As for not having a future if this OAP trend continues, Glastonbury has traditionally included at least one headliner who was big in the 1960's to 1980's and that act has usually been a massive draw. In the 8 festivals I've been lucky enough to get tickets for, I've seen headline performances from The Who, Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, U2, The Cure and now Macca.
Anyway, regardless of future headliners, the festival will continue to thrive as it offers so much choice and variety. I saw 18 performances over 3 days and only 5 of those were on the Pyramid Stage.
Lamar past it? Give it a rest. Tell us which cutting thrust artist you would have liked to have seen?she was garbage and the others just past it.
can't stand themAre you a fan of ELO?
what was she then?Lamar past it? Give it a rest. Tell us which cutting thrust artist you would have liked to have seen?
Ross was poor yes but she wasn't a headliner
The war on drugs would make a great headline band, Future islands, loads of bands better then the offerings we got.Lamar past it? Give it a rest. Tell us which cutting thrust artist you would have liked to have seen?

She was a "legend" where it is quite possible they would stage an "OAP" as you call them.what was she then?
Future Islands, War on Drugs headline. Come on they are watchable but they are are definitely not headline material. Saw Future Islands in the JP Tent in 2017. They were good but didn't pack it out.The war on drugs would make a great headline band, Future islands, loads of bands better then the offerings we got.
Matter of opinions but I thought Eilish was good for a modern artist. And I would say Kendrik Lamar is at the top of his career. Hardly "OAPS" and past itshe was garbage and the others just past it.
They might have been garbage for your taste but..The headline acts this year were garbage, if this oap trend continues it ain't got a future
Diana Ross wasn't a headliner. She played the Sunday afternoon legends slot - you know the one created specifically for acts that have achieved longevity in the music industry.mc Cartney 80, Ross 80, she was absolutely terrible !
Although I would add that there's been some great performers in that slot over the years, including Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Paul Simon, etc. None of them were top of the bill though.Diana Ross wasn't a headliner. I'll agree though that she wasn't very good.
Fair enough about the "unofficial headliner" tag, but I think the purpose of that slot is to put on someone with a long back catalogue of songs that the crowd can have a feel good singalong too. For example, I'd never consider buying tickets to see Dolly or Lionel, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself at both. Even Diana Ross was an enjoyable experience, as the majority were having a good time despite the questionable vocals.Legends slot is the unofficial fourth headliner to be fair but you expect that slot not to be at the peak of their powers...that's why it's called the legends slot.
I’ve never regarded the legends slot as the “4th headliner”. In the past they have been rather a mixture of novelty acts like Tony Christie, past Diva superstars like Shirley Bassey and Dolly. Pitched in at the tea time Sunday slot so you can have a singalong.Legends slot is the unofficial fourth headliner to be fair but you expect that slot not to be at the peak of their powers...that's why it's called the legends slot.
Agree with you about the legends slot not being a headliner but I saw Tony Christie on pyramid in 2009 and I’m pretty sure he wasn’t in the legends slot. Think it was Tom Jones. Other legend slots I’ve seen - Ray Davies, James Brown, ELO, Kylie, Brian Wilson, Shirley Bassey, Dolly.I’ve never regarded the legends slot as the “4th headliner”.
