But if Scott has a list of potential gaffers to replace the doomed Carrick, do you not think they will be ones who play the same style of football as Carrick?
We haven’t signed 42 attacking options to play Pulis-ball
No one is asking for Pulis ball

Well that's confusing, he's a better manager but you don't necessarily want him. But the question remains, if you don't want Carrick who do you want? Because sacking the guy leaves a bit of a gap in the structure. He wouldn't be my preferred choice. It's just a name of a better football manager who is available than Michael Carrick which you were asking for.
Doesn't mean I want him, but he would have us better than how we are doing now.
Just because we don't know who we'd get...doesn't mean you stick with the guy who is taking the team backwards.Well that's confusing, he's a better manager but you don't necessarily want him. The errors for the goals last night, or not taking our chances were not structural issues with shape, or formations or style of play. It was Burgzorg being a PHANNY for the first Sunderland goal, Morris and ayling unable to control a football for the second, or us missing gilt edge chances with Forss leaning back when clean through, or heading straight at the keeper when we were leading.Of course they could. Look at Moyes at Everton. We don't have to go too far back in our history to see that Karanka did it after Mogga was sacked.
Different ideas, someone with a more tactical approach could get this squad playing much better.

Look at Sunderland...they ended up getting rejected by a good number of managers and settled on Le Bris....
just need to find the next Iraola. easy!
if only @newyddion had a massive list of potential managers to go with his seemingly endless player lists!
the thing about this, is that it could genuinely happen. but i don't think it willIf it's going to be anybody I would think that it would be Jonathan Woodgate with Grant Leadbitter as assistant.
(Jonny Howson and Darragh Lenihan as first team coaches)
You're calling for a bloke to lose his job and I'm being arsey? I just think before we call for drastic action like sacking the manager it's best to think the consequences through. And the replacement we get is the main consequence. Have we learned nothing from Gordon Strachan?I'd have him but you're missing everyone's point. If he was sacked he will be replaced. It's not about who I want it's about the manager currently disappointing. Why are you being arsey?
I don't think it will. I think Carrick is doing fine with what he has got. the issues were clearly identified and we couldn't get those players in that would have made a difference.the thing about this, is that it could genuinely happen. but i don't think it will
boro fans are stupid enough to call for Carrick's head.. and then complain when we replace him lol

Of course you're entitled to an opinion, wouldn't dream of suggesting otherwise. But to say a thread is about x, but nothing to do with the direct consequence of x makes no sense to me.I'm entitled to my opinion, I've been thinking about it for a while and today is the day I feel like it's time for a change. I haven't started this thread lightly I knew there would be some backlash and different opinions but it's not right to question me on who I would appoint. Because that's not what the thread is about.
In my opinion I think his time as Boro manager should be over and it's time to find a replacement. It's just an opinion. Some will agree, some won't. That's fine
