Genuinely think he needs sacking

But if Scott has a list of potential gaffers to replace the doomed Carrick, do you not think they will be ones who play the same style of football as Carrick?

We haven’t signed 42 attacking options to play Pulis-ball

No one is asking for Pulis ball

He wouldn't be my preferred choice. It's just a name of a better football manager who is available than Michael Carrick which you were asking for.

Doesn't mean I want him, but he would have us better than how we are doing now.
Well that's confusing, he's a better manager but you don't necessarily want him. But the question remains, if you don't want Carrick who do you want? Because sacking the guy leaves a bit of a gap in the structure.

Just because we don't know who we'd get...doesn't mean you stick with the guy who is taking the team backwards.

Look at Sunderland...they ended up getting rejected by a good number of managers and settled on Le Bris....

I'd have him but you're missing everyone's point. If he was sacked he will be replaced. It's not about who I want it's about the manager currently disappointing. Why are you being arsey?

Of course they could. Look at Moyes at Everton. We don't have to go too far back in our history to see that Karanka did it after Mogga was sacked.

Different ideas, someone with a more tactical approach could get this squad playing much better.
The errors for the goals last night, or not taking our chances were not structural issues with shape, or formations or style of play. It was Burgzorg being a PHANNY for the first Sunderland goal, Morris and ayling unable to control a football for the second, or us missing gilt edge chances with Forss leaning back when clean through, or heading straight at the keeper when we were leading.

These are basic technical skills any professional footballer should master. A change in manager wouldn't necessarily resolve this.

I do think Carrick stays until it's mathematically impossible for us to finish in the PO's.

And I think the only way he stays in the summer, is if we have an amazing end of the season where we either get promoted, or fall very short (for example - PO final defeat).

He really has become the new mark robins on here 😅

Just missed 1 year in the previous to many to count as a season ticket holder but just cant get excited going to watch his football just getting more frustrated and angry. Sadly unless something changes, i just dot want to go anymore.

just need to find the next Iraola. easy!

if only @newyddion had a massive list of potential managers to go with his seemingly endless player lists!

Steve Cooper, Rob Edwards, Russell Martin... maybe they will re-join their relegated clubs in the championship for promotion again?

Garry O'Neil will end up at Burnley when Scott Parker fluffs it at Burnley.

Sean Dyche would fit in with the stereotypical flip flop regime change destroying any semblance of attacking flair or entertainment.

If it's going to be anybody I would think that it would be Jonathan Woodgate with Grant Leadbitter as assistant.
(Jonny Howson and Darragh Lenihan as first team coaches)

I still think Carrick is here next season. For now, that would be my preference....providing he is prepared to make some changes (we'll see).

If - big if - he does go before the end of the season, I can't see anything other than Woody being put in caretaker charge tbh.

the thing about this, is that it could genuinely happen. but i don't think it will

You're calling for a bloke to lose his job and I'm being arsey? I just think before we call for drastic action like sacking the manager it's best to think the consequences through. And the replacement we get is the main consequence. Have we learned nothing from Gordon Strachan?

I'm entitled to my opinion, I've been thinking about it for a while and today is the day I feel like it's time for a change. I haven't started this thread lightly I knew there would be some backlash and different opinions but it's not right to question me on who I would appoint. Because that's not what the thread is about.

In my opinion I think his time as Boro manager should be over and it's time to find a replacement. It's just an opinion. Some will agree, some won't. That's fine

Realistically he’s not going to be sacked. Still a lot of football to be played, and I think we will be in the mix until at least the last few games of the season.

Can’t see us making the play offs though unless our luck turns significantly, players come back from injury and stay fit.

Of course you're entitled to an opinion, wouldn't dream of suggesting otherwise. But to say a thread is about x, but nothing to do with the direct consequence of x makes no sense to me.

And for the avoidance of doubt I'm not saying conclusively that he shouldn't be sacked.
