Fury v Whyte

For me that showed Wilder is probably also a bit underrated. He gave Fury far more problems than Whyte across the 3 fights. You were always on edge knowing Wilder could KO him at any point. Tonight was just a mismatch.
It is pretty funny when things start dawning on people :ROFLMAO:

Wilder is very good, very flawed but he gives anyone hell.

People bought so much into the Joshua/Hearn/Matchroom hype. They thought AJ was unbeatable and his opponents such as Whyte were far better than what they were.

Most of the AJ fanboys never gave Fury or Wilder enough credit and the last 2 years showed that Fury is levels above everyone else apart from Usyk.

I love Usyk and he's really special but I think Fury is just too big for him.

It probably is his last fight. He's 34, doesn't need the money and there's noone really left to fight. The AJ fight isn't worth anything now and the only reason to fight Usyk would be to unify the belts and be undisputed... But he's already held those belts before.

Honestly, didn't think it'd be so one sided tonight, but I don't think that's a slight on Whyte, it's just how good Fury really is. Not many boxers get to choose the way they go out of the sport, so if he does retire tonight he's managed to do it entirely on his terms at the top of his game. Fair play to him.

I've said it on here in the past that Wilder absolutely annihilates the likes of Whyte.
I was shocked to hear the pundits this week talking about how much better Whyte is than Wilder.

Like you say Wilder is a pretty poor boxer but he's a great athlete and has absolutely frightening power.

Yup, Fury has an incredible defence and still got dropped 4 times? vs Wilder. Now all of those fighters could have beat Wilder because of course he's flawed, but Whyte, AJ etc are not difficult to hit, if Wilder connects it is goodnight.

Although that was before, not sure about now, Fury has probably took everything out of Wilder now.

It did make me chuckle when someone earlier was claiming Fury couldn’t be considered good because he hasn’t fought the likes of Ruiz and Pulev! As if Wilder wouldn’t blow them away.

People have to cling on to something because they've believed something to be true for a very long time and it is falling apart in front of their eyes.

I thought Whyte would have troubled Fury more than he did, he didn’t, so fuq, move on, when’s the next fight. 😄
Fury v Joshua, in my opinion would still be a fight that sells tickets, even if Joshua loses to Usyk.

Maybe people that don’t watch boxing will deem it boring, Whyte had to go all in for first few rounds to have any chance of winning, he didn’t and lost, Tyson could have jabbed him away all night long.

Great performance by Fury and made Whyte look very basic. Fury set the uppercut up by landing some powerful body shots in the lead up to the KO. Although Whyte wasn't really regarded as one of the best in the division, it's still a good win for Fury.

Over to Usyk v Joshua next and that should set up a massive undisputed clash in December or next Spring. Usyk looked a strong favourite to beat Joshua again, but considering what's happened in Ukraine, you'd have to imagine that Usyk will be nowhere near 100%.

I’m just a casual watcher, curious as to why Fury vs AJ wouldn’t be worth anything now?

Even if Fury creams him it would surely be the biggest fight they could make with the name recognition appeal to people like me who don’t know much about boxing?

Like, I’d still watch Mayweather-Pacquiao if it took place tomorrow.

AJ needs fury that’s the reality.

Fury doesn’t need AJ.

If say Fury fights USYK next huge fight.
