Football Manager 2024

How are you only second with those loans 😂
I know right! It's pretty much fantasy football for the Championship. Palmer was unreal at first but his form has dropped right off, assume he's gotten bored with how easy it is.

Norwich (currently top) must have the Brazil 70 side or something :)

When you go up absolutely raid the bottom 3 of the PL for relegation release clauses!

I will start a new save at the end of this season, it's going well, but I've reloaded the game after a few annoying defeats too often, plus I've been playing with 3 tactics for different situations.

I'm top of the league, won the league cup (no re-loads), lost to Man U in the quarter finals of FA Cup and in the final 8 of the Europa League.

Lot's of issues with players wanting more game time this season, especially the likes of Engel, McGree, Silvera.

I'm also implementing Youth to Gold, so I buy no one older than 22 and I sell anyone 30 or over.

But yeah, will restart after this season.

I finished 2nd in my first season, getting promoted on goal difference ahead of Southampton. I only won 1 of my last 5 so kind of sneaked over the line. Southampton only lost one of their last 19 league games, a 3-2 home defeat to us, which proved the crucial result.

I've gone all nostalgic and made Cameron Archer my big summer signing cos Sheff Utd got relegated.

btw there are some great skins on the FM Scout site, there's even one which shows current and potential ability as default on the player profile page. .... very useful, but is it wrong to use?

End of season 5 - finished 1st (championship), 9th, 4th, 4th and now 3rd. Was in with a shout of title with two games left. Man Utd, Spurs and myself all tied on 79 points. I drew one, lost one, they both won both of their games. Cest la Vie! Knocked out of champs league in 1/4 finals! Not made any headway in domestic cups. Only Greenwood, Finn Cartwright and Dael Fry from the starting Squad, and Fry wants to be off!

*EDIT* - I turned down an interview for the Liverpool Job, they appointed Chris Wilder!!!!

I'd be torn. In the old days of Championship Manager I could look at a player's stats and know if they were going to be a top player or not. These days stats don't tell you enough on their own and so you need your scouts to do a good job. I have found though that they are rubbish at their job and they don't tell you accurately whether a player is going to become good. It's annoying how many players I have bought based on scout recommendations who haven't even been better than the players I've already got. I don't want to waste a load of money signing players that my scouts say would be potentially 5 star only to find out they mean they would be much better than Paddy McNair with 5 years of 1st team development.

I'm just into my 4th season. Finished 8th in my 1st season in the PL. Just missed out on the last day on a Europa League spot. I needed to win and Spurs to lose. Spurs lost but I lost at home to Liverpool and Utd jumped over both of us. Started the 4th season with a player revolt. Rav Van den Berg had a bid of £15m from Atletico Madrid. He's valued at £30m so I rejected it. All the senior players have supported him and said he should be able to leave. I agreed, Atletico aren't interested anymore and the only bids I have had are £48m from Sheff Utd and £25m from Wolves (both championship). He rejected Sheff Utd and is now kicking off because I won't let him go to Wolves. He's been starting for Boro in the league above. The player interactions are really stupid at times.

I've just downloaded and installed a logo pack from this site below so now everything looks a bit better. There are patches to correct team names and you can get player images etc as well which I've not bothered with.

Well I've finally finished my first season and won the league with a game to spare, probably one of the best promotion seasons I've had with Boro over the years.

My only signing was Dele Alli in January and he played his part by contributing 3 goals and an assist in his 13 league appearances.

Highlights include a humdinger of a game against Leeds at home which we won 4-3, in which we were 3-1 down at one point int he second half but goals from Lath, Howson and a Forss winner ensured all we needed to do in the next game was draw and promotion was guaranteed.

That wasn't the only win over Leeds, we smashed them 4-0 in an FA Cup 5th round tie which set up a home draw against Liverpool in the quarters. Unfortunately we were on the end of a 5-4 AET defeat.

Greenwood finishes as the league's top scorer with 25 goals and Isaiah Jones top assist maker with 14.

Now the real fun begins, splashing the cash in the summer!

ended my last save and started a new one as Utrecht, Top of the league!!

Following Boro and they are bottom of the league having one 2 games all season ( millwall and Preston)

Struggling in my first season in the PL now, anyone got any tips on how to tweak tactics to cope with better teams?
That first season its all about beating the teams you need to beat. Games against the top 6 are almost a write off, although I found if you try and go defensive they automatically smash you!

I just sutck with my trusty 4231, with the RB being a inverted full back on defend. the two sitters being a DLP and a BWM. The RW as a Winger, LW as a IF and the no 10 being a SS.

Into my second EPL season and a slight backward step on the first. Will likely finish top half but miss out on Europe.

Conference League group stage 6 out of 6 though so potentially a shot at some European glory!

I restarted with utrecht, league is too easy as there's only 3 or 4 teams that have enough quality to compete. Won the league and upgraded with loans and cheap south American and just won my first champions league game against Besiktas

I feel like I always bring in too many players because I can't possibly turn the option down! And it disrupts the team trying to fit everyone in.

4 league games in and my record is Villa (A) 3-1, Brighton (H) 1-1, Man City (A) 3-1, Blackburn (H) 4-2. Also got beat in the league cup first round at home to Everton 3-4.

The Blackburn game happened after asking for tips, so I'll see how the next lot of games go with the changes made...

I haven't been on in a week or so because I've been poorly but I'm getting the itch again now I'm getting better.
I've got 2 saves, my Boro save and my Reading save but I'm unsure if I want to go back to do either of them! Although I'm already having a lot of success on the game I feel like a want something more fun.
Anyone got any suggestions for a team?
