Football Manager 2024

Struggling in my first season in the PL now, anyone got any tips on how to tweak tactics to cope with better teams?
When you are underdogs set your mentality to balanced. If both teams are even go positive, and if you are favourites go attacking.

I'm 8th in my first Premier League season in mid January. Got to the semi finals of the Carabao Cup, with the 2nd leg due imminently. Drew the first leg 2-2 at Anfield, but was 2-0 up with 20 to play.

I've won at Old Trafford, drew at Stamford Bridge, and beaten both Spurs and Chelsea at home. Got beat 5-1 at Arsenal and 4-0 at City mind.

I went with balanced mentality in pretty much all my games in my first season in the prem.

In tough away games I moved my 2 centre mids back to defensive mid

I haven't been on in a week or so because I've been poorly but I'm getting the itch again now I'm getting better.
I've got 2 saves, my Boro save and my Reading save but I'm unsure if I want to go back to do either of them! Although I'm already having a lot of success on the game I feel like a want something more fun.
Anyone got any suggestions for a team?
I always enjoy a save with our Danish brothers, Middlefart. They are in the 2nd division (equivalent to league 1), try and get them up the leagues and dominate Denmark and go far in Europe.

I've always enjoyed the Ultimate Challenge. Start unemployed with zero badges/lowest rep and try to win 10 domestic league titles, 10 domestic cup titles, 5 champions leagues and all international tournaments, plus Club World Cup. Around 32 comps in total, think I've managed 10-11 before. Usually start in Sweden where you can progress quite quickly through the divisions (and crucially are offered jobs off the bat) before moving into the top European leagues.

As for my Boro save, finished 9th second season in EPL (down from 7th in first season) BUT qualified for the Europa by winning the Conference League. Sociedad and Atlanta gave us some issues in the QF/SF but battered LASK 8-0 in the final at Hampden

Took a few weeks away from the game whilst myself and my family battled with the lurgie and decided to restart my Boro save and see if I could feel a bit happier.

First season I finished top of the championship scoring a bag full of goals In the process, Kieran Scott reccomended a young loan striker called Nelson Wieper and I snapped him up for the season + £3.2millon obligation to buy literally hoping I go up and I did! Another fantastic loan signing was Orel Mangala who displaced Hackney in my advanced playmaker role and he thrived in the big games, upon promotion I signed him permanently for £3million. I also triggered Greenwoods £1.5million option. Latte Lath got 20 goals, he thrives as an advanced forward with a pressing forward partner.

Second season was the case of just survive, made some signings the most important 2 of note were Savio from Troyes for £27million and Brajan Gruda from Koln for £7.5million. I managed to survive pretty comfortably in 11th in the end.

It allowed me to significantly improve heading into season 3, Marcos Leonardo in to partner Weiper, Competition brought in all over the pitch with only a few of the promotion squad still in tact.
Currently I'm in February and have just won the carabao cup final beating Chelsea 3-2, Weiper and Mangala scoring which was poetic in my eyes. I currently sit 8th in the league with a tight league and I know if I can just put a run together I could potentially get Europa League instead of conference.
A center back and a keeper on the agenda in the summer on top of fleshing out the squad with more quality.

2 dissapointing things, RVDB hasn't developed much and has became only a squad player after 2 and a half seasons of persistence and Saudis haven't come and spent insane money on my average players 😂

Did sell Matt Clarke and Barlaser for a combined £20million to Sheffield united though 😂
