Favourite Scottish Boro Player

The title thread is favourites Scottish player not best, so the others wouldn’t laugh to be in the same conversation

John Hendrie for me. Never forget his hat trick against Blackburn

Given the OP asked for my favourite Scottish player, as opposed to beat, if have to say Hamilton, followed by Hendrie, the latter also being involved in my favourite Boro anecdote, for a few extra points.

Souness the best by a distance.
But probably have better memories of Slaven who was always capable of turning a game when all looked lost

Amazing to think that John Hendrie never got any Scottish caps but his nephew's posing son managed one for England.

I loved it with Ripley and Hendrie swapping wings all the time in their time together setting up Bernie in the middle..

But I don't think there is any doubt that Souness is the best Scot for Boro and was just class. Mannion, Souness and Juninho are the three players I would rank as Boro's greatest of all time (based on hearsay in Mannion's case)

1. Souness - an absolute machine. If we ever get anyone better in that position I’d be amazed.
2. Slaven - bargain basement buy who turned out to be a diamond. Strangely underrated by some.
3. Hendrie - scored some belters, including “that goal” at Ayresome. Handshake like a vice if you ever get to meet him 😁
