Derby County - 9 point deduction (with a further 3 suspended)

From Derby sob story statement:

A planned sale of the club and stadium that was due to close in January 2020 collapsed when the EFL was coerced into challenging the Stadium Sale transaction, a charge that would be dismissed some 9 months later.

But I thought the club didn't own the stadium? How can it be included in a sale 18 months after they've already sold it?

It's pretty badly written. This would be better:

a charge that was later dismissed. 3 words less.

hopefully the 9 points will be suspended until the end of the season and only applied if Derby survive, if not then applied next season. You shouldn't be able to serve two punishments simultaneously

The company that owns the ground has also called in the administrator. It isn't just Derby County but all associated companies including those that own the training ground and stadium.

It's an absolute mess 😞

Surely right at the beginning when they were talking about ways to cheat the system they must have known what they were doing was wrong, someone must have piped up & said, 'hey this aint right, its not within the rules of the game'

Wow Morris has absolutely FUBAR'd Derby. There will always be the odd derby fan that will want to blame Gibson, but it seems most see the light, Morris gambled and failed, and worse he cheated, got caught, while gambling and failing.
