Cristiano Ronaldo

Agree with @Diego

The last thing Arsenal need would be another 'Auba' in their ranks.

It's no surprise that they've improved hugely since they got rid of that bad egg.

They don't want another bad egg to ruin all the work Arteta is doing.

Ronaldo is past it. He's a has been and he needs to retire.

Give me Gabriel Jesus over Ronaldo (at this moment in time) any day of any week.

In a way though would be hilarious for it too happen and watch Ronaldo ruin it all just purely for the enjoyment of his biggest fan boy Piers Morgan trying to defend him after ruining his beloved Arsenals title charge. Would love that

He's already backtracked on Arteta after slating him for the last 2/3 seasons.

He's also gone very very quiet on the Aubameyang situation too after criticising Arsenal for getting shot of him...the same Aubameyang who's pulling up 0 trees at their London neighbours.

I don't mind Arsenal and would be happy for them to win the title this season, although I still don't believe they will.

If they signed Ronaldo though, that would just blow any hopes they have of pipping City to the title.

It would be a car crash waiting to happen....I think Arsenal know this though and that deal will never happen. Although I agree, to see them sign him and blow their title chances...I think it would destroy Piers, which wouldn't be a bad thing.

Yeah I like Arteta and the players, just not a fan of their fan base. Make me cringe . I’d like to see them battle it out alll the way through and see if they have that inner belief

If he leaves he’s not going to a potential champions league winning team. His options are so limited, why would it be explosive.
If he’s leaving it’s likely to America or Sporting.
he will get released from him contract I bet, which means he can call his own shots where he goes if he is willing to sacrifice some wage to join a champions league team

Ten Haag hasn't really been fair with him instead of letting him go in the summer, when it was clear he wasn't going to fit in with how he played he kept him there until jan when they will let him go.
Part of me wonders why he would do it, I bet the board wouldn't let him leave until they got more shirts sold, by Jan most of the full price shirt sales will be done

No club that his ego would allow him to move to wanted to take him in the summer.

The summer was just full of big clubs publicly saying they wouldn't be signing him

Ronaldo obviously wants a Champions League club to take him. He's desperate for him to keep the goal scoring record and he knows Messi is very close to him, whilst playing for a top team.

Don't think any top club are daft enough to take him though, especially not any decent Champions League club.

His only options will be to go to MLS, retire or potentially take a huge paycut and drop down to a lesser club....or maybe Sporting?

wasn't chelsea after him?
but I think he more likely to go back to some of his roots like sporting where he started if he can't get in an elite team to take him on, they still feature in the champions league I'm sure
I honestly think he is trying to stay fit and playing so can be in the same line up as his son sooner than later, and think thats the part of his ego you stroke as a club if you want to bring him in and also bring his son over as well

must be kicking himself he never went to city, things would have been different for him

Why should Ten Haag just let him go? He was the top scorer last season and they were struggling to replace him. They didn't receive any offers for him so for them to just cancel his contract would have been ridiculous. Imagine the fan backlash if they did.

All he is interested in is himself and being the top european goal scorer. What about show some class to the team that helped make him.

I know it sounds ridiculous to say, because it’s Cristiano Ronaldo, but I’m not sure he gets into any of the top 7.

I don’t think you can seriously challenge for a title if you’ve got a player who doesn’t do tactics / systems and is a black hole without the ball.
absolutely, he still has ability, obviously, but you have to sacrifice a lot to feed him, he doesn't ever sacrifice himself for the team. His pace and fitness seems to have dropped 10% from his prime too

They only paid 12m transfer fee, so that's pittance to them. The wages surpass that They could save 40m by tearing up his contract, rather than waiting for someone to pony up 8m for him which might not even happen

He's worth alot more to them than just the transfer fee. He is their biggest player asset in terms of revenue i would think. If they cancelled his contract i'm sure he would still want paying off too.

Just because he wants to be a t*t, doesnt mean they should have to lose out. He was their captain last week and played there last 2 games before this week.

He's almost always been awful whenever he's played this season too, and he reacts like a petulant child whenever Ten Hag tries to change anything.

Sub him, he'll kick off.
Start him on the bench, he'll kick off.
Try and bring him on as a sub, he'll kick off.

I think there came a point, over the last season or two, where his personal ambition for setting new records overtook what should have been his main priority of playing for the team.

Not playing, particularly in the Champions League, will be killing him and thats why he's been pushing for a move since the summer.

But he's very much towards the end of his career and I'm not sure how many clubs would take him, if the ones that could afford to. Even more so after his conduct recently.

Since he became a number 9 and basically just an out and out goalscorer I've always got the impression that his personal records have come before team success.

Its why he'll never be above Messi for me.

All he cares about is being regarded as the best at everything (even though he isn’t) and it’s actually made him worse and it’s effecting the teams he plays for. Messi is the best. Better person too

Messi's goal scoring record is similar, they've both won trophies galore but on the pitch Messi beats him hands down. Better player, better team player and better person.

I've seen both play on the pitch and Messi was the best I've ever seen.
