Chris Wilder

He's on about ripping it all up and starting again and players on decent pay packets who arent putting performances in ... wow
He referred to some of our players playing safe and

He said some teams in the champo who never go up and ne er go down wbo have players on deent pay packets.

Criticising players that have been comfortable in the championship for years and basically saying they’ll be gone. Wonder who.

Today was different - the other games this season we've played some lovely football and everyone knew their roles, and we "deserved" far more points than we got, so I wasn't particularly worried and it was a matter of time until something clicked

Today it didn't look like there was a connect in the team, awful tactics, no flow, and yes, we got beat by a wonder goal but we deserved nothing - none of the subs made any impact and it didn't look like we had a plan B - that's down to the manager / coaches

.... and the way he's treating Dael Fry is disgraceful - if you don't like him, don't pick him but you don't pull off (oooh errr missis) a player at half time twice in a row

I didn’t see the game today, but this post really sums how I feel about the current situation.

But I’m worried that we are spending £5-6 million on “projects” when we should be spending more to get the finished article.

People calling for a change in management after 5 games is ridiculous.

I honestly don’t think that we are carrying any luck at the moment with officials.

The penalty at QPR, the foul at Stoke, possible penalty today.

The manager did say a week ago that the week just gone would be a pivotal week assuming alluding to important transfers. It didn’t really turn out to be hopefully the next will be.

Got a bad feeling about this. I didn't expect we'd lose again today and thought we'd be off with our first win.

Wilder sounded as angry as expected. Re; Fry, apparently, there's been a 'falling out' and that's not me being 'ITK' but one of the lads on OneBoro who tends to be on the money with most snippets has repeated it a few times in the past couple of weeks that between Wilder and Fry, the relationship isn't good

I don't like that if true as suggests there possibly could be more to it, I hope things aren't unhappy in general behind the scenes. Naturally, they will all be in a low mood with our start this season, but I mean unhappiness anyway with the squad and Wilder in general

As mentioned in the thread or the other Wilder one, something has been 'off' since the Burnley carry-on. It certainly has, nothing has improved since, and if only gotten worse

There's no way we could change manager at this stage now either, it would create a right mess to state the obvious ... so I don't agree with some calls for Wilder's job out and about though I have always said I haven't felt I can trust him ever since the Burnley link was going around and he did nothing to make it clear he has a job to do here. 'Mid-to-long-term' as he said, I believe ... I thought his enthusiasm and commitment would be reignited with a successful Summer transfer window, and all that was now just water under the bridge

I still hope that is what happens and he succeeds, but something isn't right at the moment. I am hoping it's just a case of waiting for our first win and not getting the rub of the green mostly. but we badly need another few quality additions to change our luck. Certainly, if we are still planning on challenging in the top-six

So I am certainly not 'Wilder out!' but at the same time, I wish I could get an idea of how things are going at Rockliffe in general as I am feeling uneasy more and more as each game goes by

If Fry isn’t doing the job he has briefed, he has every right to bring him off when he wants. He was not good enough to play a forward ball today. If he doesn’t fit the system (which I like) get rid. Local lad or not!!!

I agree with others from other posts. I genuinely believe Wilder is sending messages to the powers above that action is required. It’s going to be tense for the remainder of the window, because if he doesn’t get what he potentially has been promised and isn’t delivered it could get messy.

Absolutely 100% shoddy treatment of dale fry. If I was dale I would be thinking of getting out of the club or even sticking at it until wilders gone which might not be too long

McNair, Fry and Crooks?
He said the keeper had nothing to do and was unsighted for the goal so not talking about him. Lenaghan , Giles , Mowatt , Forss , Hoppe and Mcgree are his signings so not them.Jones and Giles had off days but can’t see it being them .
Which leaves
Howson , Crooks, Fry, Dijksteel, Watmore . He did say he was having to play Paddy and Bola out of position which would rule them out .
Steady players , happy to pick up a good salary and plod away in the championship.Strong words from an angry man.
Huge 10 days ahead, I think more than 4 will come in, with some of the above gone.

I disagree, Reading offered nothing other than one strike, we pressed but it didnt work, however we did have chances and both Watmore and Hoppe should of scored as should lenihan with his header, so even though the game was a poor performance by the standards we ha e set a draw would of been a fair result .

That's if he's still in a job .
He didnt say Boro players where going, he said so.e of our players maybe have got comfortable and need better players to come in to put pressure on them to perform.

When mentioning avaerage champo players he was illuding to the fact that he expects better then from his players and for them to not perform like average champo teams who never go up or never go down and are just happy picking there hansom pay packet up, no mention of wanting to get rid of players.

He said mcnair was playing out of position his choice.
He said bola was playing out of pisition again his choice, both Dijksteel and mcnair could of played either side of Lenihan or Fry as they did all last season.

I feel some sympathy for Wilder. The position we are in is all down to recruitment. We have started the season 4 players short of our starting 11. We're told we need to wait until the window shut. I said that is too late and it's been proven right. We're going to be too far off the pace by the time we get our act together. Like last season we'll be saying we're only a few pieces away from promotion. Like this season our better players will be signed by someone else and we'll be in exactly the same situation.

Getting the right players in is important but having players good enough from the start is also important. We didn't need everyone in on day 1 but the most important positions should've been filled. What it does show is that our backup players aren't good enough so even if we sign another 3 players for the 1st team then are we expecting that we can't keep a clean sheet or score a goal if they are unavailable?

Wilder has to take some blame because he's been chopping and changing the whole team. He's playing Bola who is a LB and didn't fit in our team. McNair is not a midfielder, Fry is not able to play high up the pitch, Watmore or Forss are not lone strikers. He also takes some of the blame for recruitment because he's difficult to shop for as he is so inflexible in the system he uses.
