Blackburn match attendance

Will be good to see some fringe players getting a run out but I'm genuinely not bothered about the result either way.

It's been said that it's important to win in the cup because defeat can have an impact on league form but after we beat Leeds 0-3 we lost vs Derby in the next game.

We lost 0-5 vs Stoke and won our next game 0-2 vs Cardiff.

I’m looking forward to it. Using it as my son’s first game (6 year old). The kick off time isn’t great especially for those who have to travel. I come down from Newcastle so not too bad. I noticed on social media that the club were getting loads of abuse for the prices. Loads of people demanding £1 tickets. I actually thought the prices were good especially under 18s at £6.

UTB.

Are we allowed to play it at Heritage Park?! Is it available to stream if I go to Vietnam like last weekend?

We made ZERO effort to sell this game.. and with ample opportunity!

It could have been chucked in with the half season cards or sold separately as a gift.. given the bumper xmas crowds and amount of fans in the club shop.

We could have run a promotion on the big screen before Cardiff game.. friends and family.

Nothing
It's nothing, or hardly anything, to do with the cost. People just can't be bothered going. It's a boring game at a ridiculous kick off time against Blackburn (and I'm sure their fans feel the same about playing us by the way).

It could be free and I doubt it would 'sell' out.

Doesn’t cost anything to say.. tickets are for sale.. or would you like to buy a ticket?

I’ve bought my seat for the 3 priority points.

That said, I’ll probably still go now. Me and my mate are the only ones out of our 7 who’ve bought them.

Did the same myself, as it’s got me into the 150+ points category for the run-in.

Although, I’ll most probably go.

I think we’ll see a lot leave it until Friday to buy

Yeah I am now 161 and my mate 155. A few meaningless home FA Cup games could be handy.

Should get to 170+ by end of season either way.

No idea why they don't just open up a stand at a time for games like this.

The cost in the extra staff for concourse/stewarding for opening the full ground is pointless.

Kick off time is terrible but with all due respect to Blackburn the opposition is also unattractive at this stage of the cup.

Both managers and clubs will be only interested in getting into the play offs.

Not sure if it would be possible but it’s better to keep teams from the same league separate until the later rounds, these days that would be a big improvement for the FA Cup.

It’s a shame really, the cup third round used to be a big day in the calendar.

The competition has been devalued over the years by the FA and the bigger Clubs. Examples moving KO times to silly times, making whole rounds mid week games. Getting rid of replays, allowing a games venue to be reversed so a supposedly home game becomes an away game. Allowing Manchester United not to take part one season, allowing teams like MU to play their under 21 team. Plus the chance of a giant killing has reduced as the difference between the haves and have nots is many times bigger than say in the 1970s. The value of playing in the Premier League is 100 times higher than it was in 1992/93, so many teams give the FAC low priority to concentrate on Premier League issues.

Our game against Blackburn is priced the same as a pre season friendly which also sends out a message. In the 1970s FAC games were priced the same as league games.

Even with a low crowd, if it's a good exciting match it will produce a good atmosphere with mostly Boro diehards attending.
I think, as a Boro die hard myself, the day of the Boro die hard is almost up. You get to an age where you've watched 1500 games and you kind of realise something. I've left early 3 or 4 times this season whilst I had left early just twice in 48 years.
Another Barlaser free kick and a left back for a left back substitution and something hits you.
