We're all hypocrites, Erimus. I abhor that regime and many others from whose countries we buy our goods (try being a Muslim in China for instance, but that doesn't stop us helping them strengthen their global power base) but will possibly watch England's games (undecided as yet tbh). And you yourself have complained about the behaviour of posters in this place on many an occasion, but iirc you're a member of another site which daily insults and defames this site's owner in the worst possible terms. We all swim in muddy waters and we all make decisions every day that are open to accusations of hypocrisy.

This, it shouldn't be there but now it is, is going to make for interesting viewing, football fans are the most unpredictable set of people around and you can guarantee there will be protests , banners and all other things going to happen , the Qataris thought they might have hit the jackpot but as the World Press descend on them it might make it feel more like a poisoned chalice.

That's the only hope, that somehow the Qataris will be shamed in front of the World's media, I think it's unlikely though as fans will have banners or protest stuff taking from them during 'security' searches.

Absolutely but Just in the past few days we’ve had comments from FIFA and the that interview with the Qatari foreign minister. They all seem rattled that the world won’t shut up. Surely that’s partly shaming ?
