Bhoycotting the Werld Cup?

This World Cup feels so wrong.. corruption, the disgusting treatment of migrant workers, criminalisation of homosexuality, woman’s rights.

But then when it starts it will be everywhere and it’s only gonna take a few tinkles on the blower to get me out for a few beers.. the curiosity will get me and the apathy of ‘what difference am I going to make’

Bhoycott?

"Boycoutt"? Like a few people I've spoken to, this just hasn't caught my attention. I read a BBC article about Pele in the 1970 world cup and could immediately recall the sense of occasion and drama.
This just leaves me flat.

I rarely get excited about big international tournaments until they start, then I become obsessed because there's free football all over my telly.

This one does feel different though for a few reasons. I'm sure I'll check out the highlights after Madagascar win it or whatever.

Giving this one a miss - first one I won't have watched since 1982.

Everything about the tournament is wrong. Mid season. $$$$$. Qatar. The corrupt cabal that is FIFA. No thanks.

Not really ars*d about international footy anyway, so missing it won't be that hard. May be tricky with the media saturation, but I'll give it a go. Maybe pretend I'm Scottish for a month ........😉

Each to their own, but Qatar 2022 - no, not for me.

I have also said before I have decided not to watch a single match or purposely watch any highlights on moral grounds. I have decided this, due to the hypocrisy and corruption of certain football bodies which goes back to the last world cup in Russia 4 years after they illigally annexed Crimea and 4 years later illigally annexed other parts of Ukraine. The 2018 world cup should never of went ahead and this one shouldn't be for many obvious reasons.

I’ve just got up and had a **** shower and shave

When shaving I thought about cutting my nose off to spite my face but decided it was a bad idea.

I already disagree with the way football is run. It's corrupt and has been fully taken over by the money. I already watch the PL and the Champions League etc so in that sense it's just another competition where I will concentrate on the actual games and ignore the absence of ethics and morality.

Most games will be decided by cheats anyway. There's no ethics of morality any step of the way.

But guys surely we much do as instructed by FIFA and ignore the politics and focus on the football, god forbid it wouldn’t be a staggering success and their pockets are not amply lined!

I've never been as disinterested in a major football tournament involving England as this one.The location, the time of year, hypocrisy of footballers who take the knee yet are OK with performing in a country with backward medieval beliefs towards gays and women, absolutely shocking!
