Benidorm Curfew/Spanish Lockdown.

Sounds like you have good news over there guys with regards to the slowing down of cases.

Relaxation of the lockdown tomorrow when we're allowed out for exercise, then businesses with appointments (hairdressers etc) and takeaway food shops can open up from Monday - if all goes well, there'll be limited opening of bars and restaurants on the 25th - that'll be the real test I think, and I'm sure even the slightest rise after that and we'll be back in full lockdown again

I wouldn't panic mate.

The German's reported a one day rise above the R figure of 1 and then went back down to below that the day after.

You guys will be fine as will everybody.

Absolutely (y)

Not sure the German's have opened bars up yet have they ? That'll be the real test for social distancing - it'll be interesting to see how compliant we are tomorrow with exercise and individual sport being allowed

Do you guys have contact tracing apps and temperature testing in place like they do in Asia?
I saw articles about apps being developed for use in Spain. However I personally have not seen anything in use anywhere.

Also, I personally have not seen much about temperature testing taking place either.

Mind you, we live a relatively quiet part of Spain that has not had too many cases or deaths. In comparison to other parts of the country.

Things may be different in Jaen, Málaga or Barcelona. Where we have some Boro people who could report.

I guess it might be different in Madrid as well. Along with other big cities or transport hubs.

Daily info from my preferred Spanish stats guy

Data Saturday May 2

Same situation and diagnosis as yesterday. Confirmation in the area of new minimums in cases and daily deaths. Expecting to see in the next days a new level drop.

One more day with a mismatch between absolute and new figures in cases, because Madrid provides data on cases corresponding to past days, so the Ministry of Health incorporates them into the list of total cases but not to those of new cases of the day. Another day with an asterisk in the table.

1,147 new cases are counted. It is already five days in a row below 1,400 cases. Total cases amount to 216,582. The multiplication rate remains at 1.03.

A high percentage of new daily cases for 10 days correspond to health personnel, who are finally being able to do the tests. Although it is a disaster in terms of health protection management, it has a positive component. The rate of deaths with coronavirus in patients between 20 and 59 years of age is 0.76% in Spain (10 out of 1,300 die). That implies that, on the other hand, the current infections will translate into very few deaths in the next 15 days, so we will see the number of daily deaths "safe" to drop.

The problem is that the other important part of new cases comes from nursing homes, which are finally tested in some autonomous communities. And there come the complications, because in Spain the lethality of the coronavirus in people infected with more than 80% is 20%. One out of five dies. That is why it is a critical priority to take all necessary measures to prevent nursing homes from being internal sources of contagion. It is the most important thing that can be done in the coming months to avoid deaths.

Those who died in the last 24 hours are 276, the third consecutive day below 300 deaths. The figure of 25,000 deceased is exceeded, at 25,100. The multiplication rate is reduced to 1.05.

Golf courses to re-open in Spain from 11 May 2020?

May 11: the date to return to the golf courses

The stages, outdoors, and sport, without contact, meet the required conditions

Hispaniola establishes a protocol for players, fields and industries in the sector

Golfers, both professional and amateur, are in luck. According to all the specialized media, yours will be one of the first sports that can be practiced once the so-called de-escalation begins to end the crisis caused by Covid-19 (coronavirus): May 11.

Although neither the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, nor the documents made public subsequently refer specifically to golf, if it is said that for May 11, the date set for phase one, “the outdoor sports facilities without public (only to practice sports in which there is no contact: athletics, tennis) ”and you can practice“ individual sports activities by appointment in sports centers that do not involve physical contact or the use of changing rooms ”. Wow, golf.

Almost in parallel to this announcement, the group of Spanish golf institutions –integrated by the Royal Spanish Federation (RFEG), the Autonomous Federations, the Spanish Association of Golf Courses (AECG), the Spanish Association of Greenkeepers (AEdG), the Spanish Association of Managers (AEGG) and the Spanish Association of Professionals (PGA) - have presented the Protocol of Opening of the Sport of Golf, a series of guidelines and recommendations for the practice of this sport safely, “when the health authorities allow ”.
The protocol

The Golf Sport Opening Protocol, divided into three parts - players, golf courses and industry - has an impact on guaranteeing social distance and minimizing the risk of spreading the coronavirus.

Additionally, this Protocol delves into the idea that the opening of golf courses in our country could favor the Spain brand abroad, taking advantage of the image of golf as a healthy, outdoor and Covid-free sport, which will contribute to a faster revival of tourism.

The procedures to be followed before, during and after playing golf are part of the first block of the document, intended for practitioners. It talks about the need to book online, not pay in cash, that the use of buggies is individual or for members of the same family ...

In the second block, focused on golf courses, the recommended measures are summarized for the reopening of a standard facility, with each golf course having to adapt them to its own characteristics, always in accordance with the general limitations imposed by the Health Administration.

There are some that are as logical as minimizing the use of the club room or reception, and others that are more striking, such as the one referring to "equipping the holes with a system that prevents the ball from falling inside" or "removing the bunker rakes. "
The golf industry

Finally, the third block describes, with figures, the whole of the Spanish golf industry, considered the leading European and world destination for international golf tourism, a statement backed by the 1.4 million tourists who choose Spain to play the sport each year, which contribute to generating an income of 2,500 million euros and more than 30,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The document concludes with a series of demands to minimize the business damage generated by the Covid-19 crisis. These include the consideration of golf courses as a tourist infrastructure, the application of reduced VAT and the extension of the ERTE figure due to force majeure and the extraordinary and exceptional measures established in RDL 8/2020, due to the tourist traffic restrictions, as well as various financial support measures.
