Thought he was taking risks trying to buy time while he waited for movement that just wasn't happening.

Could have played safe and negative, choose not to a little too often. But I still think he's got something to offer.
 
Barlaser has played 503 minutes in a boro shirt, as said previously it’s way too soon to be writing him off.

He’s not even played 5 games worth of football.

Sorry, I take it back, he was like Viera, Zidane and Mustoe out there. No different today than any other time he’s played. It took a 35 yr old with no pre-season to make a difference in the centre. Felt sorry for Hackney today.

To be fair, we conceded not long after Howson came on. Not saying it was his fault in any way (it was McNair's) but he didn't make that much of a difference.

Hackney was poor himself as was most of the team.
 
The one thing that sticks in my head today, is how slow he runs, it's like his legs are tied together, once a player gets in front of him, he's never getting a tackle in!!
 
He was one of the team that collectively tried but were pretty much ineffective. His passing was a bit off but you could say that about a lot of them. It didnt help today that we played that narrow as everything was so congested. I get both sides of the argument but we need to judge him in a better team as nobody really shone bar Silvera.

When he has time on the ball he is ok playing the square pass but when he is closed down it’s a different story
 
I’m not basing just on today but I’ve said he’s not the necessary quality since really early on. Takes too long to make his pass and too many loose balls, also lacks a bit athletically. League one player of truth be told
