Nobby you keep missing the main point, which is we are getting very little out of Assombalonga and it is costing us an arm and a leg for that very little, you seem a sentimental guy but sometimes, you just have to cut your losses and move on.£910k for Britt over 6 moths then....what sort of signing on fee do you think a new signing would demand, transfer fee, agents fees, wages....get in the real world this isn't a computer game !
And people keep forgetting that its not entirely down the club that we move him on. Certainly not in the next 6 months anyway. He has a contract and doesn't need to go anywhere unless he wants to.Nobby you keep missing the main point, which is we are getting very little out of Assombalonga and it is costing us an arm and a leg for that very little, you seem a sentimental guy but sometimes, you just have to cut your losses and move on.
Sadly you're correctAnd people keep forgetting that its not entirely down the club that we move him on. Certainly not in the next 6 months anyway. He has a contract and doesn't need to go anywhere unless he wants to.
Oooooh ! Someone's got out of the wrong side of bed this morning...I think you should take a chill pill.Nobby you continue to make yourself look a bigger and bigger pr*ck.
Assombolonga has 15 in 55 in the last two seasons combined and 4 in 20 this season. He is NOT 1 in 3 or even close.
His conversion rate is 1 in 6 in the 6 yard box (see also Fletcher). I've never seen a player miss so many straightforward chances.
He has 2 assists in that time period and 4 in his Boro league career. He does NOTHING if he doesn't score and he doesn't score often.
It is not his fault he cost over £15m, or that he gets paid whatever it is he is paid.
It is not his fault he is so technically limited and lacking football intelligence.
It is his fault that he drifts so casually through so many matches without any positive impact.
He scores odd goals against poor sides, but has no impact against any good side.
We will get a better player and he will be massively better value for money.
He's never been anywhere near the league's top scorer and big Championship scorers are always either promoted or signed by top flight.
That nobody appears to have ever wanted to sign him from the PL, or even the championship speaks volumes.
I've spoken to Britt and he is a nice enough fella. I stress I am looking absolutely objectively.
Do you think that our Manager and Recruitment teams have left and I've been appointed?S
Oooooh ! Someone's got out of the wrong side of bed this morning...I think you should take a chill pill.
You want shot of our top goalscorer over the last few seasons. Who are you going to replace him with ? I've asked several posters this question with zero responses....
You've slagged our recruitment team to high heaven over the last couple of years....now you're putting your trust in them to find us a new striker ?Do you think that our Manager and Recruitment teams have left and I've been appointed?
I haven't and I'm confident they can and will do better than him, for better value; either now or in the summer.
I'm not like Newy, trawling over databases of players, I do look at our own players and their performance. Assombolonga is no good.
You know it too.
Britts record in the championship:
14/15 - 15 goals (curtailed by injury)
15/16 - 1 goal (missed most of season)
16/17 - 14 goals
17/18 - 15 goals
18/19 - 14 goals
19/20 - 11 goals
20/21 - 4 goals in half a season
15 goals is a very good season for Britt rather than expected.
What or who ever he is replaced with will likely offer us more, so it doesnt really matter, hes been nothing but a liability when hes played for the last 18 months, youd get more out of a scarecrow on the penalty spot.S

Can't be much worse, BA brings little to the party. Imv tubes does more. You've slagged our recruitment team to high heaven over the last couple of years....now you're putting your trust in them to find us a new striker ?
You changing your mind AGAIN !
Regards
Astonished from Middlesbrough...
Great I've finally got an answer. That fifteen goals is if he played the whole season,

More movement for one..Great I've finally got an answer.
Worzel Gummidge....
Just about sums you lot up...
Yeah let's get rid of our main striker and replace him with Worzel Gummidge !!!
Hahhahhaahhaa
My point is we already have a 1 in 3 striker, we don't need to replace him and we haven't got any brass even if we wanted to....nobs I'm lost on your point re picking another player. Isn't that the job of the extensive scouting team?
Good point, I think Britt is a right handful, allows the likes of Watmore and Johnson to get into those positions...I'm sure Warnock knows what he brings to the side...We could do with a 1 in 6 Kevin Davies type. He would he right up the gaffers street
He was a right handful.
Britt is not a handful he is soft as shīte.Good point, I think Britt is a right handful, allows the likes of Watmore and Johnson to get into those positions...I'm sure Warnock knows what he brings to the side...
