Was that price before or after we won the toss.
I think Australia will be over the moon with 3 wickets and two relatively new batsmen at the crease. Even with 120 runs up
 
My money is on australia on such a tame flat pitch its very likely one of their best players can get a heavy double hundred
 
If Root and Brooks can get a partnership supported by Stokes/Bairstow we will be looking at 400+ at a fairly fast rate. They’d definitely feel the scoreboard pressure with that I think.

As things stand I hope it’s an indication of what the whole series will be like ie exciting/dramatic/tight.
 
The problem with Bazball on these types of tracks is you don’t eat time into the game and you give the opposition good conditions too

Crawley getting out just before lunch wasn't ideal, but I doubt anyone was relying on him going big today. It was always the case that at least 2 out of Pope, Root, Brooks, Stokes and Bairstow would have to make big contributions if we are to post 450+ and 4 out of the 5 can still do that.

I still maintain that the game is currently evenly poised, but this is a big session that will go a long way to deciding this game.

I don’t think anyone was saying the game was massively in anyone favour just that the Aussies edged the session with 3 wickets

Yeah exactly. I was pretty happy at 2 wickets down with Crawley sat on 60ish and scoring freely. But that wicket in the last over before lunch swung things in their favour.

This is a big session. Probably need one of these to go big now.

The pitch is also maybe not as good as it first appeared. There has been some variable bounce.
