I understand the site needs revenue - its about getting the balance right.

I don't bloc ads on this site to help Rob Nichols and keep the site going.

I am glad he has posted, because I was not sure if the ads helped him or someone else.

It's really annoying. I get it, it's for Rob and to keep things running but every time I open a new thread or go back to main forum I have to close at least 2 pop ups.

This free, very popular, website needs to be funded somehow and advertisements are how the management can be modestly remunerated. Yes it's a bit annoying sometimes, but not a life or death experience so enjoy what we have for free.

Yes. Was one until recently, now it's one hiding under another.

Tbh I just avoid sites that auto populate ads that require closing to view the content.

But there are costs associated with running this place and also worth noting that the vast majority of the moderation on here is done on a voluntary basis so surely a minor inconvenience can be tolerated?

I have been getting overwhelmed by the ads that seem to accompany FMTTM. I practically have to to take down FMTTM and reinstall every time I look at the site.
