A Few Words For Neil Warnock

Here is the official press release for Chris Wilder's appointment (he will give his first press conference on Tuesday). But also a handful of words about Neil Warnock's departure. I really cannot help thinking he deserved far, far better than that. But at least he got a chance to wave goodbye to many of the fans. Fans who incidentally did not boo or chant against him at all either at WBA or even in the defeat at Luton.

Really hopeful for the next few years, will always be thankful for the role Warnock played in facilitating whatever follows. Without him, we would be in a worse position than Sunderland are currently, he balanced the books, cleared the deadwood and players we were perhaps too loyal to. I very much think in years to come, we will see him as a 2020s Mowbray, who helped paved the way for some very good times under our prospective "new Aitor", Mr Wilder. Wish Neil Warnock well in his retirement and very disappointed to see another highlight from years gone by, from an era where fans were important, identity was important and heritage was important, leave the beautiful game. Feel we are losing something of that passion and vigour bit by bit.

But we are the Boro, we move on, I look forward to seeing what Mr Wilder does, and if it is anything like I saw in my three years in Sheffield, we have a sensational time in store. UTB.

Why didn’t you try and at least give the young lads a go.

They even went public as warnocks rejects such was the contempt they felt.

For those saying but they aren’t good enough look at josh yesterday how do we know if we don’t even put them on the bench.

That empty spot in the subs bench was spit in the eye to those young lads.

Who gave Coburn his chance like? Who gave Jones his chance?

Loved Warnock and his style , the results this season and last were poor, lost games we should have won, how much is down to the back room bickering with Bauser and the Morsey scandal ... who knows, its been great having you at my club ... Nuff said

What exactly didn't he deserve? Lets not make out he's a saint himself either. He was a dream for the media because of all the column inches he filled, but he was always in it for himself. It was always the Neil Warnock show. Lets not mention his political staging whilst on club time as well.

Absolute hero for saving us from league 1, that would have been catastrophic in a football sense.

Now seems the right time for a change as he was off at the end of the season anyway.

I'm delighted that we have announced wilder so quickly, I was very concerned we'd have another 'agnew' situation.

Thanks for saving us Neil.

Hes gone now.
He did us a "Terry Venables" when we needed it.
Common sense the club replaced him before January - whats the point in building a team to suit a Manager whose leaving in 6 months time?
Good luck to Neil and Sharon.
He`l be on Sky an Talksport every day, which he is good at.
The lads will step up and prove their worth.
Its Boro above Managers first.
They come and go, but us fans and the red n white remain forever(y)

He got a great send off at West Brom.
Glad to have been a part of that.
Yes at The Hawthorns too, glad I was there, it was a little emotional wasn't it. My only regret with Warnock is that we didn't get him about ten or fifteen years ago. Football has moved on a bit now and at 73 it's probably time for him to retire....won't be too surprised if him, Blackie and Ronnie don't rock up somewhere else this season......'I was driving Sharon mad.....'

This exactly. He did well to keep us up but has been a downward trajectory ever since, said some unhelpful stuff in the media, used his role as a platform to make political comment and left with an unprofessional rant against the club. Grateful he kept us up, glad he's gone.
