I’ll never understand anyone saying Cook is better than Root.Over the last few years I've read comments from journalists saying things like Alistair Cook is the last great English test batsman, then they were saying Root is definitely the last of an era.
It is starting to look like they were wrong.
Well put it this way. Baz got a triple century here in Wellington on days 3 and 4 so this wicket just gets easier. Id say if we set 230 plus as a target then game on.Thats enough now AT, don't curse them.
Wood and Archer will be involved in the ashes series, Bairstow to come back we will annihilate the convictsWell put it this way. Baz got a triple century here in Wellington on days 3 and 4 so this wicket just gets easier. Id say if we set 230 plus as a target then game on.
I think Englands problem going into the Ashes is the fifth bowler or lack of. With Stokes not bowling and Root only a part-timer England are effectively a bowler down and have rely on the ageing Anderson and Broad, good though they are. Leach for me is easy pickings.
There is a southerly blowing. It is pretty coolLooks toasty there today proper summers day
Who do you drop though? Bairstow for Folkes, Crawley or Duckett? Wood and Archer for Robinson, Broad or Leech, or just one of Archer and Woods rotated between tests?Wood and Archer will be involved in the ashes series, Bairstow to come back we will annihilate the convicts
Lead over 130 and still with 5 wickets left. It's on.Still got to expect Englands seamers to take early wickets with the (still) new ball and then strangle them out with spin. I’d guess England will knock of a quick 130 to win the game tomorrow
England will go for it whatever. Various England supporters on other platforms having a pop at the follow on decision. England could have batted and put this out of sight. On this pitch, the last day and a half would have been turgid stuff and NZ would have batted out a draw.Heres a forecast. NZ will get a 400 lead by mid morning tomorrow and Eng will go for it. Whether they triumph is another thing. But beginning to wish I'd put a dollar on NZ Saturday tea time when they were odds of 25-1
Free entry for tomorrow, first come first served.
Nice gesture by NZ cricket
