Still booing the taking the knee

Have we had anyone come on here in the last couple of weeks and said that they boo'ed, and why? If so, I can't recall them.

We've had a parade of apologists presenting flimsy, implausible explanations of why someone would boo, but not confirming they boo'ed themselves.

Being bored of it, hostility to virtue signaling, and feeling they're being preached at have been the least convincing offered.

We must have a few posters who did it who, are happy to make their point without the anonymity of being in a crowd? Surely they can speak for themselves?
Even the apologist above, decided eventually to imply he didn't boo. He didn't actually say that he didnt, he just inferred it.

that tells you what a weak argument they hang on to.

"Why do we have to feel sorry for whining black people?"

Sickening.

How does bending the knee do this? What linear process is present to achieve an objective?

You bend the knee and then what? Drink ten pints, beat the wife .. That is a joke.

Bending the knee is a measurement of nada. There is no commitment to anything.
and booing helps how?

The post was direted at yourself

Who does more to fight inequality:

A footballer on thousands of pounds a week who bends their knee?

A support worker supporting the vulnerable working 40 hours a week on £9/10 an hour?

There is a deeper point here about commitment.

I've answered it for you.

You're deflecting from the arguement.

Engage with the points made. I will pose this to you.

‘A support worker supporting the vulnerable working 40 hours a week on £9/10 an hour?’

How do you quantify it?

Do you know what footballers do outside of the pitch?

I have a suspicion nobody booing will be thinking about the injustice of football players' wages over care workers' wages - or that they want more done to eradicate racism than just kneeling

If people don't like it they could take their phone out their pocket, glance at it - and by the time they've done that the taking the knee will be over

To choose to make the effort to boo - or take the effort to defend booing on here - is something I can't personally understand the rationale for

It's a simple anti-racism gesture. That's it. No more, no less. 30 seconds of someone's life to just shut the f*ck up and not boo.

But racists get triggered, so really makes them easy to spot and hopefully Boro start to recognise that their is a clear racist element within our support.

And absolutely guarantee 100% if the players took the knee for Ukraine the knuckle draggers would not boo.

Wonder why .......🤔🤔
Its not simple. Football jumped into bed with a act imported from another Country associated with a contentious controversial ideology. The FA etc had to reiterate what the kneeling was about, and the position and messaging changed. As a means of communication that indicates the communication was flawed.

So, change the communication and clubs did. Clubs have abandoned this action in the main, why? Racism has been defeated? Its gone away? The act is lacking in real meaning and will always be contentious and contaminated.

Wider sport didnt start kneeling at all, why? Why just the football?

So if you play football your are not allowed to be anti racist

You seem to be having an argument on your own here. No-one is debating how effective or otherwise taking the knee is but you.

That's not the issue. The issue is why are people booing it? People don't boo something because it's an ineffective hollow gesture. They boo something because they're actively against it.

Unless you're really trying to suggest the knuckle draggers doing it are having a pre match pint and saying "you know what mate, this taking the knee malarky. What upsets me about it is we are doing enough to tackle racism yeah? And anyway I didn't like the way the FA sold out and effectively supported the regime in Qatar. I reckon we should boo it to put that point across".

Somebody who works with vulnerable people can be racist.

Somebody working with the vulnerable will be in employment with clear standards and principles that work to create a more equal society. Thats is fundamental to social care. There is a emotional cost to people in social care for minimal wages. There is a commitment of life.

Football? Taking the knee costs the individual nothing. It does nothing in comparison. You can still be a racist ******, or not.

‘Everybody is anti racist. Virtually’ - not true.
There are virtual racists all over the place.

I don’t bend the knee before work. That doesn’t make me a racist.

You know the audience football has, You also know it’s not really about the players and owners being anti racist or not.
It’s about opening a debate, about inequality, with billions of people worldwide.

There is a chance that some people will reflect and change behaviour by witnessing players take the knee. It might help.

Not doing it is easy, but does not help.
Booing it achieves nothing and is likely to be driven by racism.

You have chosen your personal stance.

Your highlighting why people may boo something. Its ineffectual. Pointless.

There is an argument present here that you KNOW why people boo this ineffectual useless kneeling that hardly no other sport bother with, and most clubs have binned is solely racism. You have even decided those who boo this ineffectual useless kneeling that hardly no other sport bother with, and most clubs have binned are knuckle draggers.

People can have a multitude of reasons to boo only this one, and only one imported gimmick associated with BLM that hardly no other sport bother with, and most clubs have binned beyond them being racist. These reasons are not because they are not all against anti racism.

England and Wales went to a party, the World cup hosted by racists, human right abusers, homophobes, misogynists ... There is our games struggle against injustice.
