Fair play to Wilder for calling out Lumley

Howson heads it. No shot.

Lumley has to delay dive for shot as in rushing Honeyman could tap in.

I think that’s a pretty robust defence of QPR’s reserve keeper

The same people criticising Wilder for having a go are probably in the crowd having a go in public.......its a big ,bad world , winners win , losers lose , get up on your feet & put it right ........because believe me this manager will do what it takes regardless of who you think you are ....managers get sacked , players seldom do , what he has got from them from where they started is great , but he has got there before , and knows what it takes & if it goes wrong because he called a few out , it says more about THEIR character than his

What’s the point in calling him out?

Is it going to turn him into Allison or Ederson? No.

Is it going to stop him making mistakes? No.

Is it going to stop our defence and midfield passing back to him when he has opposition players closing down on him? No.

Do it behind closed doors. He isn’t going to drop Lumley for the next 7 games because the alternative is no better and he won’t throw Sol Brynn in, so it achieves nothing.

We’re not made of Money. Would help if one of the three of our loan strikers, struck
Strange one tho isn’t it.
Good keepers can save you points (according to Ferguson et all).
To say - that’s ok but I will take the likes of Connolly instead, is a judgement call.
Wilder made that call.
If we think that was the right call then fair enough.
If not, it’s reasonable to hold Wilder to account. I’m sure he can take it.

I know what your saying. I just think he’s an average chimpship keeper. Does some good things, does the odd head scratcher. That’s why he’s playing where he is. A lot of things weren’t good enough today. I love Wilder, but you could (if wanting to be totally contrary) say Wilders insistence on that formation when we don’t have the players, today was the issue.

However I would expect an on loan premier league keeper in next year

All good that Lee

Confidence will be shot to pieces but he will be dropped now anyway. Wilder will have known that before proceeding with the public shaming.

I disagree, The mistake isnt a capability issue he can't resolve, he absolutely can be more decisive and dive earlier and save it. The reason he hasn't made the save is in his head, not in his hands or feet, so to speak. Wilders provocation is a last throw of the dice to provoke the right reaction in the short term, before he seals a free transfer to forest Green rovers next season!

He is not even an average Championship Keeper. There are people on this board that argue a keeper doesn’t gain you many points, well we would be comfortably in the play offs with a bang average keeper rather than the gaffridden keeper we have. Yes all keepers make good saves and make mistakes, but the frequency of his that end up in goals is off the scale for me, compared to others we have had in the past.

Wilder called out the entire team except for Dijksteel. He did so (imho) because he knows the seriousness of that performance with 2 big games looming and has always spoken honestly and fairly. I have no issue with his comments we all saw it, he knows were not stupid. Min 4 points needed for me over Easter.
