I get more joy from seeing the Boro score in a random league game on a Saturday than I do seeing England score a goal in a major tournament. Can't really explain why but I've just never got into England. I'm Boro through and through and always will be.

I'm a massive Boro fan, I'm desperate for promotion this season, but I'd choose England winning the World Cup over it if it was a straight choice.

If it was a choice between Middlesbrough winning the Premier League and England winning the World Cup, I'd be far more conflicted.
Ditto this.

I love Boro more than England, but I picked England, as a World Cup win is worth more than a promotion I think. I must have seen 4 boro promotions, and us in 5 finals? Compared to one Euro final. The international stuff is much more elusive, so trumps a promotion to me.

So for me, pick England, win in Qatar and then we would be top or second top of the Champo anyway at Crimbo, under our own steam, and in good stead for promotion.

But, a lot of my choice is also due to belief in the current crop of players, the manager, the chairman, and more importantly our finances heading back in the right direction again (compared to others). So I see boro's promotion as almost inevitable, with Wilder and the current crop which will likely get better before it gets worse.

If England don't win it this year, or at the next one, then I don't think we will get another good or fair chance soon, as the next two are Kane's last chance for me, and I don't see enough goals without him, or in who could replace him before we lose the crop of young talent we have. We need some good centre backs too though.

It may have been in doubt when we has a couple of players in the England side, but even then it was always Boro.

I went England. Sorry if that offends anyone, but the Boro will be promoted far more often than England win the World Cup. I was a baby when we last won it, so it would be great to be able to say I'd seen us win the biggest prize in football, particularly with an ex-Boro manager and legend being the one to do it.

I was 6 when England won the world cup, I never watched it, apparently when I was asked by my dad why I wasn't watching I simply replied I support Boro not England. Can only have been to a handful of matches at that time but always felt the same. Will watch the big England games now but if there was something I felt more important wouldn't be fussed.

Boro all day. I got sucked into the euros when it was in and I’m sure the World Cup as I’m an England fan too butBoro getting beat hurts me much more than England getting beat and all I think about on a daily basis is the Boro. Would love nothing more than Boro getting promoted and if England manage to win the World Cup then fantastic.

No harm in enjoying following England in a major tournament but it's like Christmas, it's relevant for a short period of time. Boro are 365 days a year, 24/7.
A Boro promotion will have a much longer term affect on my enjoyment of the game than an England World Cup win. By far.
