Anonymous poll - England win World Cup or Boro promotion

The Poll is completely anonymous I’d just be interested what the figures are.

I am honestly flabbergasted by the responses.

One major tournament win in Englands history (which was before the majority of fans were even born) vs lots of promotions over the history of Boro and a yearly chance of it happening again in the future

If it was Boro win major trophy V England winning major trophy then I’d agree

Love Boro, but promotion is inevitable. I don't know how long it will take, but it will happen and I'll be there. I expect to see it at least 4 or 5 more times in my life.

I can easily conceive of living and dying without ever seeing England win the WC

Fairly easy choice for me, England win the World Cup.

The only thing that made me hesitate slightly was where the World Cup is held.

Middlesbrough will get promoted at some point in the future, whether it's this season or later.

But seeing your country win the biggest trophy in football is a much, much rarer experience.

Seems fairly explanatory though.

There are plenty of people who aren't really fussed about the national team to begin with, they are obviously going to prefer their club getting promoted.

There are also plenty of people who like England, but care far more about club football than international football.

If you read the post, there are loads of people proclaiming themselves as 'massive boro fans' but choosing England.

I'm a massive Boro fan, I'm desperate for promotion this season, but I'd choose England winning the World Cup over it if it was a straight choice.

If it was a choice between Middlesbrough winning the Premier League and England winning the World Cup, I'd be far more conflicted.
