Assombalonga going?

So Nobby if you don’t do your job as well as 3 years ago, are less productive what relevance does that have today? I put it to you not a lot it is all about the present. Equally Britts pitiful return - 4 in 21- is representative of his work . A 1 in 5 merchant. So don’t tell me what he did in the past, it is what he is doing currently - which isn’t much. Not negative just fact Nobby
That is spot on. I do not dislike Brit, I want the best for our club and Brit's performances of late do us no favor's, I believe there must be another younger, hungrier play out there that could better Brits performances for a lot less money.

I'm quite relaxed abouf Fletcher going too
Why?

He was playing well before his injury, Warnock has a track record of improving players, his new contract won't be excessive, any replacement would cost as much if not more and there's no guarantee he would settle straight in and be any improvement.

Better the devil you know sometimes.

He had played 345 minutes of league football as a striker prior to joining us. That's less than 4 full matches. HE was predominantly played wide and occasionally as a 10, and in emergency as a CF.....but.......maybe CF is his true role
Maybe Watmore is the new John Hendrie.

Assombolonga has not been scoring at 1 in 3 for 2 years.

His last 69 league matches covering 2 years has seen him score 19 goals and provide 2 assists.

Forget his fee, forget his wages, that is simply not good enough.
He is now a 1 in 4 goalscorer who creates absolutely nothing for anybody else.
He is lazy, has no fight and offers no passion.

There is more to a forward than just scoring goals, that is true. Kevin Davies was a 1 in 6 player, but did ever so much more for his clubs on the pitch than score goals.
But there is nothing more to Assombolonga's game and he just doesn't score many.

Jordan Rhodes was a 1 in 2 goalscorer, but is certainly not anymore.
Assombolonga was a 1 in 3 goalscorer, but is certainly not anymore.

Get shot of him this month.
Getting a fee for him and ending his wage would be great business.

I'm not especially wanting him to go
I actually thought both he and Britt finished last season well, but Fletchers couple of league performances before the injury werent too good - and Britt has been hit and miss all season
I'm quite relaxed if one or both go, and quite relaxed if one or both stay on reduced wages

An expensive asset all the same, his wages were huge, big help to offload them I guess.
Let's hope Neil can replace him with a 'gem' of a player.

I'm pretty sure that if one or the other or both stay they will be on reduced wages. Wages that are more accurate reflection of what the club can afford these days and thats how it should be.

So valid criticism is viewed as whinging? Is it not the purpose of a message board to cite ones opinion?

Pointing out the pitiful goals return for Britt this season is valid and worthy of pointing out. That is what numerous posters have done on this thread - nowt wrong with that.

Not necessarily this board I meant generally, social Media fans on the radio etc - I'm not defending nor criticising Britt, but it's previously been posted in the thread, he's a 15m striker to which I think some fans have got that as an easy stick to beat him with and again already been posted he was a 1 in 3 striker when he came and he's still a 1 in 3 striker now. History would suggest there's always one player that gets more stick than the rest and over the last 2 seasons plus I would say that's Britt. I wouldn't say it's was valid all the time just at times it can be a tad OTT.
