Tour de France (Contains Spoilers) 🚴🏼‍♀️🇫🇷

He's some rider isn't he?
Pleased Pinot and the team learned the lesson from last year tho

I love the direction that cycle racing is taking with these much shorter stages that really encourage brave attacks. I just hope JV don't become the new dominant team in the peloton and stifle the racing.

The omens are good - they have done more ‘racing’ when it matters than I recall Sky/Ineos over doing. 3 stage wins out of 7 isn‘t too shabby.

‘I hope that today forces the likes of Pogacar and Landa to attack early tomorrow’

Don’t think GC can let them get away yet - they are not far enough behind.

For some reason I thought Tom was the same age as Van Aert - He’s 4 years younger.
Could be really interesting

Yes, Van Aert has been round a lot longer than people imagine if they don't follow cyclo-cross. He was World Champion three times until he was usurped by Van der Poel which may have played a part in his switch to the road. And of course Tom finished second to Van der Poel at last year's Worlds.

Confusing stage in many ways.
was Roglic in control or not I couldn’t say. He definitely didn’t enjoy not having Kuss there at the end. Pogacar looked supreme and to take back half what he lost yesterday in one stage suggests he may be the strongest rider in the race at the moment. well certainly a chink in the JV train.

I think Roglic is looking in complete control - he just doesn't want the jersey too soon.
Maybe, his team don't look as strong as were maybe expected. Kuss folded early today, hasn't been much sign of Tony Martin and Dumoulin surlrisingly struggled to stay with the pace today. Van Aert looks outstanding though.

Pogacar took 55 seconds from the rest of the GC guys on the last 6ks of the Peyresaude, whilst smashing the record for the climb. He has to be worth a bet while he's still 40 seconds down. He can TT with the best.

I think you might see a few blow up and a few ride themselves into form. Not sure which team it was that was mentioned yesterday, but the commentators said they'd tested the riders when they'd returned to the team and they were between 1 and 20% down on where they should be fitness wise.
Good trainers could taper off while those who ride into form could improve. I think Sagan might be in the latter category and every day he stays in touch will help Bernal with his recovery.
It's going to go to the wire for all jerseys I reckon.

What a race that was!
I am devastated for Marc Hirschl. He deserved more than second but Pogacar is the best rider in the race at the moment.
