One thing I hate at gigs now is when crowds sing along in unison to melodies, guitar solos or bass lines. Never used to happen until about ten years ago.
Do you reckon it started with Seven Nation Army?

It’s just like you’d hum or whistle a tune when you’re on your own. So what’s wrong with everyone doing it together at a gig? Have to say he was the epitome of a frontman that night.Must have been awesome to see VH in 78 with DLR? Not surprised they upstaged Sabbath. Runnin’ with the devil must have sounded fantastic in those days.
One other crap one - Primal Scream at Leeds O2 in about 2012 also. Weird atmosphere, loads of older people and younger people but all quite chippy.

Not in my world. Ever.
Opinions innit. Van Halen are one of the greatest bands ever imho. Few can touch Eddie on the guitar.Van’poodle rock’ Halen ahead of Sabbath?

Yes possibly although it didn’t occur to me until just now when you said it.Do you reckon it started with Seven Nation Army?
Cos they’re not whistling or humming they’re going “da na na na na da na na na na der der der der der der der der” to songs like Not Nineteen Forever and it sounds awful. Sorry, just my opinion. Never happened when I was younger. It’s just like you’d hum or whistle a tune when you’re on your own. So what’s wrong with everyone doing it together at a gig? Music brings the people together
I dont get the love for van halen yes extraordinary guitarist but there songs are garbage. Worst gig for me probably whitesnake at Newcastle city hall 90 or 91 coverdale looked like he couldn't be arsed and it was flat as a fartOpinions innit.
