Top 5 worst gigs

One thing I hate at gigs now is when crowds sing along in unison to melodies, guitar solos or bass lines. Never used to happen until about ten years ago.
It’s just like you’d hum or whistle a tune when you’re on your own. So what’s wrong with everyone doing it together at a gig? Music brings the people together

Must have been awesome to see VH in 78 with DLR? Not surprised they upstaged Sabbath. Runnin’ with the devil must have sounded fantastic in those days.

One other crap one - Primal Scream at Leeds O2 in about 2012 also. Weird atmosphere, loads of older people and younger people but all quite chippy.
Have to say he was the epitome of a frontman that night.
Ozzy by comparison was a little fat bloke spilling out of a jumpsuit.

Sadly have to add Echo & The Bunnymen at Rock City Nottm in April 81. Came on late, very ***ed and were horrendous. Very disappointing for me as had dragged mates along and I loved them at that time.

Oasis - Sunderland 2009 were just awful. It was about a week before they split up. Reverend and The Makers, The Enemy, and Kasabian blew them away but you just knew something wasn’t right. Walked out.

Van’poodle rock’ Halen ahead of Sabbath?
Not in my world. Ever.

Yeah Black Sabbath one of those rare bands that were genuinely groundbreaking. The Unholy Trinity of them Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple changed music forever.
Not sure you can say the same for them namby pamby American Wannabees that copied them!🤪

Cos they’re not whistling or humming they’re going “da na na na na da na na na na der der der der der der der der” to songs like Not Nineteen Forever and it sounds awful. Sorry, just my opinion. Never happened when I was younger.

Reel Big Fish at slam dunk festival. Can’t remember the year but it was when it was around Leeds uni and the city centre. They played one of their big hits 6 or 7 times in a row but it different styles of music. Went down like a lead balloon.

Opinions innit. Van Halen are one of the greatest bands ever imho. Few can touch Eddie on the guitar.
I dont get the love for van halen yes extraordinary guitarist but there songs are garbage. Worst gig for me probably whitesnake at Newcastle city hall 90 or 91 coverdale looked like he couldn't be arsed and it was flat as a fart

A-ha Darlington Stadium 2018. Saw them a few years earlier in Manchester and they were awesome but for some reason when they did Darlington they slowed every.....single.....song.....down to the slowest they could possibly be. Me and the hubby walked out early, the security guard commented how many other were too. OMD were bloody epic as always though!

The Bellrays at Play at The Empire: utter dross. However, Play was outstanding and such a good idea.

Stereophonics at IoW 2004. Dressed in all white trying to emulate Dylan. Little interaction with the crowd and a performance that lacked enthusiasm. Left early to get a chinese.
