Pears £80k

Laws £35k
Pallister goal nets & footballs
Slaven £25k
Stepgens £20k
Kerr £50k

Hasselbaink, Zenden, Mendieta. All a calibre of player we can only dream of now. All "free" (no doubt set us back a fair whack in wages mind).

I'd go Gary Pallister, for what he cost and what we got when he left, and what he went on to do, very closely followed by Bernie.

Oddly enough, they were best mates.

Slaven for me. I often wonder why he didn’t leave when we were relegated from the old division 1.

Dimi - Free

Peltier - Free
Ayala - £300k
Hall - Free
Friend - £100k

Leadbitter - Free
Whitehead - Free

Watmore - Free
Haroun - Free
Carayol - £350k

Bolasie - Free

Are we allowed frees? If so, Bolo Zenden then Gaizka Mendieta.

Mendieta came 8th in the Ballon D’Or three years before we signed him, lest we forget. It would be like getting Eden Hazard (2018) or Lewandowski (2019) now.

If not, Mustoe and Slaven were unbelievable but fees were different then. In modern money, the value we got from George Friend and Dani Ayala was unbelievable.

I don't think players from pre-90's can be included as transfer fees are vastly different. Would a Bernie Slaven of today be so cheap? Definitely not.

There's no way a Graeme Sounness would be brought in for 35k
