Yorkshire win a nail biter in the one day cup

Watched the game on YouTube. Some ridiculous shots from Yorkshire “batsmen” in a pretty simple run chase. Well done Harry Duke and Dom Leech seeing us home

Causing traffic mayhem where I live in York this. Folk parked all over the place.
Roadworks everywhere were the problem for us. Plus park and ride going out of town after match but not coming back. We had 5 buses pass us and none came back even though it was less than a mile to the park and ride.

Well it would do, not really geared up for it York Sports club, it's an amateur club with limited facilities for spectators. They've put up a temporary stand I think?

I play for the tennis club there, be giving it a wide berth on Thursday (although apparently I'd get in for free if I brought my rackets and say I'm off to play tennis).

think I used to play squash there from time to time, as a junior. Are there squash courts there?

I don't think Acklam Park is big enough since the apartment blocks were built sadly.

Mind you as these are almost 2nd team games £16 seems a bit steep.
They Played a few Durham 2nd team games there a few years ago.
Would love to see a Yorkshire game back here but I dont think it will happen.
fond memories of Yorkshire games at Acklam from the past..

An unnecessarily tense game, made worse by Harry Duke taking a single off the first ball of several overs. Parked at Rawcliffe P&R and walked there, quicker than the bus.

Yorkshire had a 20:20 warm up game ther v NYSD Select a few years ago. Sadly it clashed with Boro v Sheff Utd (our only good home performance of the season) 3-0.

Durham played 2 2ndcteam games v Glamorgan in about 2014. A 1 day game followed by a 3 day game where they had 3 Present and future England bowlers in their squad - one was 12th man. Special kudos for anyone who can name them. Also an Irish International I think

They had also played at Stockton as well around the same time (without most of the international players)

Only playing at York because of the 100.
Here again on Thursday against Hampshire. Enjoyed today, good weather on way back to Redcar soon.
yes the One day cup games are shared between York and Scarborough, which also gets a couple of 4 day games although most of scarborough's county fixtures have been washed out which must be putting some pressure on SCC finances.

They only had 2 days out of 6 washed out. Also have another 4 day game at start of September

Cracking game, made hard work of it but a last wicket stand of 34 got them home.
Game played at york
Pity we can't get one of these games at acklam park

Nice to see your nod to Acklam Park for the cricket.
My mum and dad ran the club during those years and many more after. If you haven’t tried one of me mum’s cheese n onion toasties you haven’t lived.
Used to be my stop off point pre and post match too.
They are both running the club in the sky now - just a year since me mum died.
Trying to get some kind of memorial to her at the club now.

My son played against him as a junior a few times. James Tate and Dom Leech were another level from the rest of that Normanby Hall team. Tate the better bat and Leech the better bowler, but both were very good all round cricketers.

I said to the lad at work he wasn't a rabbit by any means, so it wasn't all over when he came in as the last man.

It is just so good to see him back playing after that horrific injury a couple of years ago when fielding at Headingley.
