We’ll regret not posting a first innings or around 400.
Looks like your wish will come true. Forecast is good for Saturday but poor on Sunday.Middlesex fan here (yes, I'm attracted to sporting teams with Middle in their name).
Obviously it's a road, and the Kookaburra ball is doing nothing, but it's still dispiriting to know avoiding the follow-on is 450 runs away. A Middlesex win is evidently out of the equation, so I'm hoping for a very boring couple of days and a high-scoring draw.
Well that aged well I could claim reverse psychology and Bairstow and Hill read my post., but I’m just a bit sh1t when it comes to predictions! If Carlsberg did predictions...
Well I think we can safely say that that's where it's headingA draw may suffice for Yorkshire in this game because although there are 3 games remaining this season, Sussex play Middlesex in the final round of games.
I think both the benign state of the pitch and the relatively conservative way Yorkshire batted Middlesex out of the game suggest that’s been the thinking all along. And it’s probably right thinking even if it’s not made for a thriller this week.A draw may suffice for Yorkshire in this game because although there are 3 games remaining this season, Sussex play Middlesex in the final round of games.
No, this is the last day, it's a draw (or are you being sarcastic)Middlesex all out for 522, so all to play for with about 2days less 2 hours remaining Yorkshire are 90 runs ahead with all 10 wickets in hand.
Forecast is for rain soon, the captains should agree the draw now. I was there yesterday. The pitch is a road, and the Kookaburra ball isn't doing anything.Apologies Grumpy. You are correct. Maybe a Yorkshire declaration with an impossible target ?
Its a hybrid pitch and there was absolutely no wear from bowlers follow throughs. I gave up after 2 days and came back to watch a 0-0 in northern league so not had a lot of excitement on the sporting front this weekForecast is for rain soon, the captains should agree the draw now. Next game (Leicester) is huge - they will want it as much as YorksYorkshire only 1 point behind Middlesex now.
Leicester will certainly need to win to get back in amongst it so at the very least I wouldn’t expect to see a road like we saw this week at Headingley and I would expect a positive approach from them. Yorkshire are still likely to be more cautious with half an eye on Lords. Not as cautious as this week, when a loss could’ve been almost terminal, but certainly not the win at all costs stage yet. And I think this is another round with the kookaburra which with September weather and light could still be producing a fair few draws.Next game (Leicester) is huge - they will want it as much as Yorks
