YORKSHIRE heading for promotion.

Will Yorkshire need to strengthen or use the same group of players?
Undoubtedly need some strengthening especially in the bowling department as Fisher is moving to Surrey. There doesn’t seem to be any outstanding talent coming through the Academy at the moment so a couple of overseas players might be the answer.

Yes its an odd one Fisher leaving, from reading the notes on his interview, there is obviously some niggle with the coaching staff and stick he's been getting from being constantly injured. Its a shame as Him and Coad on their day as good a new ball pair as any (excluding those involved in England squad), maybe bar Cook and Porter at Essex.

We definitely need to strengthen there, maybe an overseas signing. The batting looks pretty strong, especially if Johnny B is out of the England picture and the youngsters continue to develop. I have no idea if Malan is planing to continue in domestic cricket and whether that will include red ball or not, or just franchise still. Neither Moriarty or Bess are what you would call top drawer spinners though, Bess does get useful runs but doesn't really rip through a side on a helpful wicket.

Yes I agree Fisher needs replacing. The reason he is leaving is because Surrey have offered him a lot more money. Whilst i would have loved him to stay I cant blame him for making the decision he has. Looking at it from how much Yorkshire will miss him, it has to be remembered he has only played about 36 county championship games in 11 years.

Yorks need to find another Jack Brooks from somewhere. Batting is starting to look strong with a player like Hill coming in at 7 that is pretty good.

Not sure what the test match situation is for start of next cc sesson but if you add Brook, Root and Masood to todays batting line up then there will not be many teams around with a stronger batting order.

You do need to take 20 wickets to win a match though, and that is where they will struggle at the moment.

We could do a lot worse than re-signing Vishwa Fernando for a longer spell. We also need a new coach, which may well have a bearing on whether Masood comes back as skipper or not. His batting was solid but we struggled to win games when he was captain and did better when he wasn't playing.

McGrath is alresdy signed up I think

If Matt Milnes can stay fit he would be a big help

The Man Utd of cricket are back in the big time.

Has he? Essex only "promoted" him to Director of cricket in July? That doesn't mean he isn't coming back..... He would be good.

Matt Milnes has done nothing in a Yorkshire shirt to convince me he is a Div 1 opening bowler. Ditto Mickey Edwards.
