YORKSHIRE heading for promotion.

Last games start next Thursday.
Yorkshire virtually have to have a flood at Headingly not to secure 2nd position.

Not done yet. A lot could depend on the weather and also how Middlesex do against already promoted Sussex. If Yorkshire lose to Northants, could get nervy!

It's possible not to go up.

Middlesex are on 186 and could get a maximum of 24 points, which puts them on 210. Yorkshire are on 201, but if we lose then even with maximum bonus points we would only get to 209. So if Yorkshire lose and Middlesex win, it comes down to those first 110 overs of the four first innings.

Over the season Yorkshire have so far managed 9 more batting points and 6 more bowling points, which suggests we probably will pick up enough bonus points compared to Middlesex anyway, but you never know if we are in a losing game and they are in a winning one.

indeed a high scoring draw v N'ton would suit us fine. We're at home I don't predict a very lively wicket..

if Middx only get say 2 batting points (300) that takes them to max 207, which means that us getting 7 bonus points ( say 400 in 110 overs and bowling Nton out) would see us home regardless of result. Alternativly drawing regardless of bonus points would then see us home

Already booked in for this. I'm sure people will be surprised that you can pay on the day for this promotion decider :). Starting Thursday 10.30am

Bethel looks a good prospect for England. I’m tempted to go to Headingley for the promotion decider v Northants

What would Sussex rather do next season - long expensive trip to Yorkshire or cosy few days at Middlesex 😳

Weather forecast for Leeds and Brighton fairly similar. Good cance of rain everyday of 4.
If so 2 draws would suit Yorkshire🏏

Doh, you’ve just jinxed it now, just looked at the BBC weather forecast for Leeds tail end of next week and it is ☔💦💧💦

More likely to be a draw and bowling points if there is a lot of rain, so that will mean promotion.

Game on , or rather not on yet...next 3 days look more promising

Difficult to see more than a forfeited innings game getting anywhere near a conclusion at Hove....

It’s crazy we are (not) playing championship cricket this late in the year.

Still, The Hundred. Nothing to be decided in the championship at all.
🤦‍♂️

If I have worked it out right. Yorkshire need 3 batting or bowling points and a draw then they will be 2nd regardless of the result in the sussex Middlesex game
