Yet another mass shooting - grim

If you look at the stats by Pew, Harvard and other research organisations, the number of individuals owning guns is declining. Some estimates reckon it's about 22% now. The number of households with access to a gun is declining, down from 40% to 36%. Those two stats tie in.
Do you have any links to those figures about a recent decline? Again, when do they date from? I found one survey saying personal ownership had declined to 22% but that was in 2017.

The most recent data I found from Pew Research is from September 2021 and shows household ownership still at 40%.

The most up-to-date info I could find is from Statista, is dated December 2022, and puts household ownership at 45%.

The share of American households owning at least one firearm has remained relatively steady since 1972, hovering between 37 percent and 47 percent. In 2022, about 45 percent of U.S. households had at least one gun in their possession.

I will have been living in the US for seven years in a few weeks. Have to add, I've lived in 2 big, liberal-minded cities (Washington DC and Chicago) which has undoubtedly impacted my experience.
