X Box series X

Would you recommend any other games? I bought the spiderman games and they are very good. Thought about assasins creed but I haven't played any of them.
Origins is by fair the best assassins creed game I’ve played. I’ve played a few of them. 14 hours into Valhalla, solid game but nothing spectacular

Can i start at origins or do I have to dig a ps3 out and start from the beggining gaz?

I've been going through the Resident Evil games as well on the PS5, loved the RE2 & 3 remakes. Planning on getting RE8 soon.
Never played any of them, I used to be a big tomb raider fan so have bought all of those. My ps4 library is massive so I have a lot to get through

Don’t know what stock alerts you use but I use the PartAlert discord, I’m a pc gamer so I’m not interested in consoles but the Xbox alerts pop up all the time in the discord and loads of people get them.

Managed to get plenty of graphics cards through the same discord.

Not sure which site the Xbox’s go up on most often but there’s a bot you can use with Amazon if you’re a little tech savvy and it will auto buy them for you when they come in stock.

If you’re really struggling pm me and I’ll get one for you.

How much of an improvement is it on the previous gen? Is there any point upgrading if you don't have a good Tele?

I was going to move from Xbox to ps this gen due to all the exclusives particularly final fantasy 7 remake and Kojima productions. Now I see that kojimas signing an exclusivity deal with Xbox. 🤬

PS have had the better exclusives for a long time and they still do but Microsoft are cleaning up a lot of studios at the moment and Game Pass is just ridiculous value for money.

Anyone lucky enough to get one of this?

I have a stock alert tracker. It's just pinged to say one is available at Amazon. I had it in my basket, then dropped out to check the price again and it then sold out. This thing is tough to buy!
Chip shortages due to covid.

I'm waiting until January before I even bother attempting to buy one.
There aren't any decent amount of new titles out for it yet anyways again due to covid issues.

I was lucky enough to get a Series X on launch day. and what a console it is. i'm not getting into the xbox/ps5 argument. i can only talk from the xbox point of view.

I would recommend getting the game pass. you get access to 100's of games for a monthly fee. you will find yourself playing random things that you would never usually pick up. through game pass we have played the life out of Forza4, Ori, EA play is included so last years Fifa, star wars fallen order, you can sample NHL, NBA, NFL as part of EA play too.

yesterday we were fortunate enough to finish the flight sim download (128GB). absolute game changer this game. flying over teesside at night is a joy, you can literally take off from any airstrip in the world. it is something i would never have dropped 50 quid in the shops for.

Forza 5 set in Mexico comes out in November and it is day 1 exclusive on game pass.

other thing it has is quick resume where you can drop in and out of games with no loading in between. really impressive. supports 120Hz 4K if you have a 120Hz TV. visuals are impressive. It is quite a size though and for ventilation ours sits on the floor rather than in a TV unit.

I have a ps5 since launch day but waiting for horizon zero dawn atm. Hardly played it

I have a beast of a pc, and with gamepass get lot of the Xbox content, couch play is sometimes nice and chill but most times I’d much rather mouse & keyboard it than use a controller

the new consoles can do 4k@60hz (and beyond) but you’ll need nee tv and potentially receiver if you use one, and potentially new cables to make full use of all that. Realistically a 3090 graphics card that costs £1400 struggles with 4k above 60fps so although these consoles can hit these levels, they’re doing so at the expense of detail and quality - some new games even are still at 4k@30. They’re definitely a leap above the last generation but I think a bit oversold based on what they can do, as they definitely don’t have 3090 equivalents inside of them 😂

I’m bit snobbish though each platform has its titles that stand out and it depends on what you and you’re mates play and how you will play.

I just ordered a steamdeck last week which a basically a Nintendo switch type device that plays pc games, should be interesting.

One of the worst years for releases this year

Amazon have the cheaper one in stock now. Series S.
wouldn’t recommend this personally unless you will only ever play gamepass games. Digital only games work well on pc but not that well on console especially at launch where prices are more than physical copies but without the benefit of being able to resell the game once done with it

I love last of us 2 but by time I want to replay it again it’ll be on psplus, paid £40 for it brand new on ps4 at launch; resold for £37 2 weeks later, spent about 25 hours in it for the grand total of £3. The digital version was £59.99 I think from memory

You're right it was 59.99, last of us and Uncharted are the only games really that I can play constantly, they are so good

I never understood a word of that. Is it like playing cards for matches?
