He`s no novice and he knows what hes doing.
He doesnt have to shout about his achievements - unlike some other Managers - results speak for themselves.
Lets not forget a few facts, including the 9 match unbeaten home run:
Christopher Wilder`s away results:
Huddersfield W 2-1
Stoke D 0-0
Blackpool W 2-1
Mansfield W 3-2
Blackburn L 1-0
Manchester Utd W - penalties
QPR D 2-2
Bristol City L 2-1
Barnsley L 4-1
Sheffield Utd L 4-1
Millwall D 0-0
Birmingham City W 2-0
Peterborough Utd W 4-0
Bournemouth D 0-0
Swansea D 0-0
Preston L 4-1
League: W5 D5 L4
Cup: W2
Under the previous Manager - Wilder inherited a club which had amassed 22 points - out of a possible 51 - from 17 league games [1.29 ppg]
Just 3 points above 19th placed Bristol City.
Chris Wilder`s team scored 40 goals in 29 league games.
In spite of three big defeats [Barnsley / Sheffield Utd / Preston] Chris Wilder`s Boro achieved 48 points from 29 games. [1.66 ppg]
* Its worth noting that Sheffield United were beaten 4-1 away to Coventry - just 4 days after they beat us 4-1 at Bramall Lane. They only won 2 out of their next 7.
Amongst the defeats were a home loss to Reading and away at Stoke. Last season, they also lost away 3-1 at Blackburn and 2-0 at Derby. Its not about Managers being tactically inept - its called football, not a game on a computer toy.
Football is a funny old game.
* On points per game [1.66] - under Chris Wilder - Boro would have finished the season on 76 points - 5th, ahead of Sheffield United and Luton.
* On the trajectory of the previous regime [1.29] - Boro would have finished on 60 points in 16th place alongside Blackpool.
Apologies for any mathematical errors in advance.
We equalled and broke a few records along the way:
Before the Fulham Home game
March 2022
Also in March 2022
We know what happened...20 seasons later we dumped them to play Spurs in the next round
In front of 31,135 fans at a packed Riverside.
"That" feeling - had been beyond our Wilderest dreams
