Wilder. I’m very sceptical.

Not because of his Burnley wobble but because of him and his sidekicks inability to be tactically flexible and decisive when needing to make changes formation wise be it first half or 2nd half.
Away at ; Bristol, hull, Barnsley, Blackburn. And Preston of course.
Various home games but those away games were critical and 4 losses and 1 draw tells a tale especially against rubbish with inferior players but clever tactically versus wilder & Alan.

That’s why I’m worried
Wilder & co are one trick ponies

why, specifically, were those defeats down to tactically inflexibility? because from memory the reason we lost was that our players played appalingly! no formation or tactical change would change that

His first full season coming up. If he has Boro back in the top 6 early on and can keep them there who’s to say another Premier league club doesn’t come calling again? What then?

Are you saying we should have stuck with Neil ?

I agree if it was one or two games the players were under par but 5 games tells me it’s not the players…otherwise he’d have had a complete clear out of players and he hasn’t.
Poor tactics and wilder never holds his hand up. He needs a long look on the mirror

How often do Pep and Klopp change formations?

Not that I can remember, but he may have made tactical changes during those changes, however they may have been subtle / you didn’t notice / the players didn’t follow the instruction well enough etc etc

Wilder’s clubs -

Alfreton Town - champions (4 trophies in total)
(Halifax losing play off finalists)
Oxford - promotion
Northampton - promotion
Sheffield Utd x 2 promotions

Looks like the ‘one trick’ of this one trick pony is promotion and success.
I’ll take that please 👍
