Why did we sit on a 2-1 lead against 10 men?

Michael Carrick said he would have liked a third to wrap it up.
But, from 21st to 6th in two months.
Being the third highest scorers in the Championship.
Having won 5 out the last 6.
Under Michael Carrick, we have won more away than at home.
We have the top scorer in the Championship and top player with most assists.
We have one of the highest average home attendances in the league and a Chairman who`s done a great job getting Michael Carrick in.

If thats not good enough????...........................................

Absolutely happy and excited roofie!
Just like to critique our performances because we can always improve.
I think finding a leadbitter (leader) type of player ought to be our most important objective because a another leader would enhance the team

They still looked dangerous and have three good forwards. Even with 10 men they were a threat. We nearly scored at the end but decided to play passing in front of their goal instead of having a shot. Anyway, not complaining about the scoreline as my £1 bet returned £102 with correct score, Fross with a goal and Hackney with a card. We smiled all the way home.

If anyone thinks our fans are uber-critical try having a read of Blackburn Rover's brfcs.com forum matchday thread... And to think they started the evening in 3rd place!!

Carrick has had a good run but I agree with the OP. Now is the time for Gibbo to act and lock him out of the training ground.

This was an excellent performance from Boro. We came out for the second half, took command and achieved our aim to get the 3 points against a tricky opponent and move into a playoff position.

I felt the same but duncan had a chance to make sure in front of the goalpost & passed it around instead of shooting what if they got the ball & scored .

We still created plenty of chances to get a 3rd, without committing too many players forward. We would have been leaving gaps in behind that might have been exploited, as they were in the first half.

Needed to be better at seeing out tightly fought games and last night we did, whilst still being a threat

A sigh of relief at the end, yes but you have to see that we respected the fact that Blackburn are a dangerous team and saw the game out accordingly

We are not being critical, we are merely asking why we didn’t go for the jugular because we are good enough to do that ? And kill the game…
silly take mate, they might have been down to ten, but they still had decent ballers on the pitch, we gave them too much of a sniff to be honest. We should have just kept moving the ball not try and get a third. They were launching it long in the last 10, and at times because we were high pressing we were 3-vs-3, too risky already.

We won, get over it.

Think he will shuffle the pack again against Birmingham, we will have a day extra rest, plus we played vs 10 for half a match so less running. Watmore Forss, Hackney, Mowatt, Jones even Muniz could see game time with fairly fresh legs. Birmingham is a game for the taking and with our recent away form we are capable of it.

I get the impression that some people think having an extra man is a much bigger advantage than it actually is. Statistically an extra man is worth 1 goal every 90 minutes. We had an extra man for about 40 minutes. It didn't drastically change the game which was quite even before the sending off.

The thing about keeping the ball, we’re not just killing time; we’re making them run. We were dragging them across the pitch time and again, the attackers dropping in and pulling their defenders about. It’s knackering to be chasing and concentrating like that with ten men. When Blackburn did get it back they had no energy or power to create anything.
exactly that, it's exactly what you do vs 10 (and 11 sometimes), move it get the ball wide, switch it and make their whole team move back across the pitch, it really tests the stamina of every player.
