WHO IS OUR GRANT LEADBITTER?

Who is watching those Coventry lads celebrating on our patch and carefully bottling it up to use as motivation for next season? A la Grant standing on the Wembley turf, arms folded, scowling, surveying, plotting. Remember that. Remember what happened the season after. Who is that man now? Big Darragh? Chuba? Paddy? Perhaps we need to sign one. But this must be motivation to make sure we get it done properly next season.

Definitely need that in midfield as howson ages. Who's our leader? There's not an obvious stand out full of character. Lenihan at a push

Could do with a few more big characters like Grant and George in this team. We do miss a bit of leadership in my opinion.

Definitely too nice.

I've said it since day one under Carrick. Don't get points for style and whilst playing well and winning feels great you have to be able to utilise any potential advantage, both within and outside the rules, to get over the line.

Did it really well under Karanka. Even under Pulis, VG would have been off injured within the first 10 probably.

It did occur to me that we are a bit naive under MC but he will learn from it.

It’s Definitely not Jonny howson, he’s one of the worst captains we’ve had, when things are going wrong he regularly just slopes off with his head down, no way is he a motivator, a model professional certainly but that’s as far as it goes from what we see of him in action

Yeah he's struggled since Ramsey made that position his own I think.

I like McGree but he can be on the periphery sometimes. Was clear Cov had targeted him as a.(physically) weak link tonight..

We had weak links all over the park. Ramsay, McGree, Akpom, Forrs, Hackney - all lost personal battles and were marked out of the game.

Ramsey a huge miss. Best player at the club imo.

We cant be reliant on a 34 year old and a young kid like Hackney to play all season brilliantly or stay injury free. Lack of depth in Central midfield was the biggest cause of a drop in form which has ultimately cost us. coventry dominated and won the midfield battle last night. Mowatt isnt good enough and hasnt the pace to drive the team forward and Barlaser whislt early days doesnt seem to have the strength to dominate championship matches. I am absolutely gutted this morning, we had such a great attacking team maybe one quality player short and its going to be broken up.

It's not just about leadership, we're short of a particular type of midfielder. Someone who'll mix it up, cover acres and just generally be horrible to play against.

The cliche is you've got to earn the right to play your game. I think that's what we're lacking against sides like Coventry. Our style is brilliant, has worked far more often than not. But when it becomes a bit more attritional, a bit more of a battle, were not so good at winning those battles and giving the flair players the freedom to play.

The best sides in the world needs those type of players, no matter how many world class playmakers they have and how attractive their football is.

How important was Fernandinho to City? Or Henderson/Fabinho to Liverpool? Or Busquets to Barcelona? Etc.

It should be a big priority IMO. Hopefully Scott and co. are all over it.

That'll be Jonny Howson.

Three damn times we've had to watch the opposition celebrating an accomplishment on our patch.. Burnley and Cov x2.

Angry isn't the word.
If its Howson he does a very good job of hiding his emotion, he comes across as the nicest man in the world and hasn't got an ounce of venom in him
